The way the supreme court is acting the chances of me living on the lamb in two years publishing illegal political 'zines on old ditto machines in people's basements is increasing far too quickly.

I like teaching math and having a mailing address and phone number.

You will get my mastodon posts baked into the stiff heavy bread we'll all have to put up with. Printed in that ditto machine blue on wax paper.

:(

I can't be stopped but this isn't going to be fun.

I'm going to fall back into that 2016 doom and start listening to "The Partisan" on repeat if I keep thinking about this.

It's not over. It's bad, but we're not helpless. People have survived worse in this country.

... and not survived.

Oh, the wind, the wind is blowing
Through the graves the wind is blowing
Freedom soon will come
Then we'll come from the shadows

Maybe we should work on the mesh network alternate to the internet instead. There is a group here in NYC that has a mesh for almost the whole city. We used to do "drills" to check that we could send email locally.

I need to see if the LORA on my roof still works.

@futurebird @cpm @shekinahcancook oh yeah, if you mean the people from NYC @mesh - they're awesome! Had the pleasure to meet some of these people at a mesh (un)conference here in Europe in the past (@battlemesh ).

@futurebird @cpm @shekinahcancook absolutely! There is also community wireless in Philly. Mesh networking is the way to go :))

ND3JR,

@cpm Or NNCP, which supports encryption and can easily be used over sneakernet as well. https://nncp.mirrors.quux.org/ @futurebird @shekinahcancook

ND3JR,

@cpm You're welcome! The stuff that @jgoerzen has written about NNCP is worth a read as well: https://www.complete.org/nncp/ @futurebird @shekinahcancook

@ND3JR @cpm @futurebird @shekinahcancook Feel free to ask me about any questions! Speking of meshes, Meshtastic is LoRA-based and Yggdrasil Network is IPv6-based. I've written quite a bit about Yggdrasil; one of my earlier posts about it was https://changelog.complete.org/archives/10319-make-the-internet-yours-again-with-an-instant-mesh-network and is probably still a good intro.

Anything that can bypass the mainstream channels is good. Ham radios are also an option, as well as pirate radio broadcasts. Now might be a good time to start getting equipment and learning those skills.
