Hey friends — question:

My new med is causing near constant . :( I cannot take Zofran (interacts with another med) or Pepto to help… and peppermint makes it worse.

I’m desperate for relief, any help would be so greatly appreciated! 🤗💜

@britt If you like ginger, chews and tea are delicious and great alternatives to tablets or capsules. Dramamine also has a “natural” version now that’s made with ginger, if you want a tiny tube to keep on hand. Hope you’re feeling better. <3

@britt I see lots of people already suggested ginger and cannabis, my two favorite herbal strategies for stomach upset; just adding that I find ginger tea is an especially helpful form for me - either commercially available herb teas, or simply soaking slices of fresh gingerroot in jusf-boiled water till it's good and infused, and sipping slowly to gently get it into the tummy.

ImmedicableME,

@britt There are other prescription medications (not sure about what’s available there, but I’ve tried about 4-5 different medications). I also use ginger chews and tea, inhalers of essential oil blends designed for chemotherapy nausea, and the acupressure point inside the wrist. SeaBands can be helpful.

@ImmedicableME Thank you for helping! I’d be really interested to hear what’s worked best for you. I find essential oils to be helpful for some things, especially peppermint on the abdomen for GI upset.

I lost my SeaBand and hope to snag a new one tomorrow. 🤗

@ImmedicableME p.s. it’s Methotrexate nausea after my dose that I’m trying to manage, if that helps. :)

@britt I am so sorry. Limit odors, cool rag, ginger chews, quiet spaces, move slowly, dim lights, small sips and small bites. Maybe one of those acupuncture wrist things or a scopolamine patch?

@abetterjulie thank you for your kindness and empathy. 🤗

I lost my trusty nausea band so I plan to try and get one tomorrow if I can get out of the house. ☺️

@britt Ginger root capsules tend to work well for nausea. This is the brand I use, and I find if I take 2 of them (or 3, if it's really bad), it makes a difference.

I hope you find some relief soon!

@izzyamar thank you!! This seems to be the go-to consensus 🤗 I think I have a bottle somewhere in my ‘stash’ lol … I’m going to go rummaging now.

@britt Good luck!! Hopefully it helps. 🤗

@izzyamar aha! I found it!

@britt cannabis legal in your area? Edibles, even in super super low dosage maybe? Or tinctures and such?
