Be careful about what you’re spreading. “X” isn’t going to be a good source of information. Rushing to quick conclusions about situations that are new and seem scary may seem like a good way to deal, but it isn’t.

I had to block 4 accounts today, a couple of which I’ve followed for a year or more, for spreading things like this as real. It’s not good for us to do this.

dswidow,

@TonyStark

One thing we all can do for good on these media platforms is remind everybody, over and over, of what you say.

It's hard for us Americans to give up our naivete, but we need to learn that we live in a different world, thanks to social networking. We need to learn to be skeptical and highly reasonable.

@TonyStark Anyone relying on X and/or trusts anything connected to Muskrat, must not be concerned with accuracy or truth.

TonyStark,
@TonyStark@progressivecafe.social avatar

@Properganda They weren’t. Now they’ll be connected to even less but I can’t fix irrationality.

@TonyStark Replacing X with Reuters / AP and one could come to the same conclusion regarding the hospital attack.

@TonyStark Thank you, Tony.

threenotch23,

@TonyStark people disregard or perhaps never knew the fact that Israel as a highly technical military nation, has a wartime radar web that tracks all airborne planes, helps, rockets, etc etc. That information can be read and the radar tracks of those flying objects from launch to landing can be ascertained. To do so in real-time is confusing but there is the capability to go back and study the data. This allows a degree of certainty most people don’t understand.

@TonyStark There is a lot that is much more subtle than that here on Mastodon.

TonyStark,
@TonyStark@progressivecafe.social avatar

@noondlyt True, true.

@TonyStark @noondlyt

This type of sceptism is critical to minimizing the spread of misinformation here, which will in turn make Mastodon a better source for accurate information.

Don't be afraid to call out BS, or even voice doubt about unverified reports.

Let's do what we can to protect our information space.

TonyStark,

@noondlyt @mastodonmigration Thank you, as always, for your support in making this platform better.

Quite dismayed that I presented this fact about the fake account to a few people who picked it up and they refused to correct themselves. These were people I knew at least a little.

Thanks, again.
