georgetakei,

So let me get this straight. Mark Meadows testified that he got involved in the fake electors scheme because (checks notes) he would be afraid Trump would yell at him if he didn’t? That’s his defense? Trump is mean and I was scared of him?

@georgetakei

Remember that the GOP accepted huge amounts of Russian money to get Trump elected. And Saudi. And Chinese. ...

We all know what betraying Russian or Saudi interests means. If Prigozhin hadn't died in a plane crash, he could say.

Falling out of windows, getting cancer from polonium poisoning, or a dose of a neurotoxin like Novachuk.

#PutinThePoisoner, #PrinceBonesaw and #KochNetwork aren't known for their forgiving natures.

Mark Meadows should be considering witness protection.

muthanight,

@georgetakei All I can hear in response to this is my father's voice… "If you're that scared of someone, why would you want to associate with them?"

BluesHarp,

@georgetakei
Well, he is spineless. LOL.

Odds that defense works for him???

@georgetakei Those sadistic bastards are all cowards. They prey on the weak because they're scared shitless of their cult leader. What a whiny little bitch.

@georgetakei The republican party platform in a nutshell.

peteorrall,

@georgetakei Mark Meadows is a weak and spineless man.

@georgetakei yes George

lizstl13,

@georgetakei Trump has a nasty temper.

At least he didn't blame it on the boogie.

MollyNYC,

@georgetakei

Well, yeah.

The entire Republican Party has been Trump’s chew toy for the last seven years.

Meadows probably lost the ability to notice how degrading it was [1] long ago.

[1] Along with whatever remained of his moral compass.

karamazov1879,

@georgetakei A repugnacant's man's man.

Flowermob,
@Flowermob@mastodon.social avatar

@georgetakei Essentially that's an admission.

BundMori,

@georgetakei
I think you will hear a variation on that theme from many other co-defendants.

@georgetakei See none of them had the guts to just punch trump in the mouth. Lay down the law...and resign. Tell the press, lawyer up....face the consequences. Stop mango Hitler from going from bad to worse. #cowards #markmeadowsperjury #liarslist

@georgetakei So he was just obeying orders? Where have we heard that before? 🤨

MicyMontu,

@georgetakei yes. Correct.

ArmyGirl,
@ArmyGirl@mastodon.world avatar

@georgetakei he probably didn't want to cry again (not that there's anything wrong with that).

ShadowPhax,

@georgetakei Mark Meadows really did not want to be booked. He fought it tooth and nail but he had to do it. All his money and high falootin connections could not save Mark.

He's already flipped on Trump to some degree. I can't wait to see him flip and go total stool pigeon to save his own as from a long prison term.

@georgetakei
Not, "I'm a greedy fvcker who has missed out on the Trump grift since Biden was elected" excuse?

SteveJB,

@georgetakei It may not be a good legal defense, but it might well be the truth. Trump has a long history of nuisance law suits against people who cross him. Meadows may have felt he was facing decades of expensive legal defense. But again, not gonna help in court.

elronxenu,
@elronxenu@mastodon.cloud avatar

@georgetakei That will be everyone's defense. They supported a balding Hitler because he was a bully.

Watchcat,

@georgetakei It doesn't surprise me. That is how Trump operates, he bullies and Lords it over the people around him until they are scared of him. Unscrupulous people who would rather stay in that environment for money and power rather than leave, become so accustomed to living like that it becomes normal to them. Like what happens with abused spouses except they can leave at any time.

jennyzilliac,

@georgetakei

I have been trying to find a reference for this because I'm curious to know what Meadows said (in his own words). Can't find anything.

Help, please?
