How many newspapers' editorial boards will join the Philadelphia Inquirer?
The former president’s criminal conviction and broadsides aimed at the legal system further demonstrate why he is unfit for any office, let alone the Oval Office, writes The Inquirer Editorial Board.
“Imagine if the Biden campaign Twitter feed posted video of a supporter confronting Laura Ingraham, cursing at her, & saying this: ‘Biden will get rid of all you fucking conservatives. You conservatives are gone when he fucking wins.’”
RW #Media & groups step up the lies & #disinformation, but thankfully for Dems, they're losing their touch. Their judgement is misguided. Dolly is universally beloved, esp. by Gen X & seniors & Gen Z & millennials are concerned about #climatechange. Defending #TFG is⬆️fraught.
The Federalist on 6/6:
"Dolly’s right that all should be treated with love & kindness, but when we refuse to label sin a sin, we’re doing more harm than good."
"Fed Judge Caught Stumping For Biden’s Green Agenda In MT."
@KimPerales Dolly is awesome and anyone attacking her for being too kind is sending a strong message that they are a jerk not worth listening to.
Dolly helped us fight the plague and sent a bunch of free books to my daughter. (My fave was “The Rabbit Listened” by Cori Doerrfeld.) On the other hand, the Federalist is working to bring fascism to my country. It’s not hard for me to pick a side here.
Lying about our #democracy can cost you. A jury awarded R Freeman & S Moss $148M from Giuliani. Fox News settled with Dominion for $787M after facing the prospect of a lengthy & damaging trial. #Media orgs like OANN/Project Veritas/Salem Media have issued retractions & apologies for their false election claims. We don’t know exactly how this rebalancing towards truth will impact the 2024 election. Those actors-certain to pause-. https://www.ifyoucankeepit.org/p/lying-about-the-2024-election-will
"American media corps., probably: you know who we need running our news outlets this election year? Foreigners who convinced their own country to cripple itself with Brexit."

According to people whose judgment and expertise I trust, Alina Chan is a conspiracy theorist whose work was discredited a long time ago. If that's the case, what is this doing in the NYT opinion section? #journalism
Looks like my old workplace is turning into another media shitshow. Editor Sally Buzzbee was shit-canned on a Sunday night and a WSJ dude who's pals with the reich-wing publisher is now in charge.
A friend of mine who was a science editor at the Post recently left after just 18 months. Abandon ship...
Top editors at the Post have never cared much about science, even though stories tend to be well-read. They have terminal politics brain. It was a double-edged thing when I was there...we got left alone to do mostly what we wanted but it was challenging to get good play.
My story on the discovery of the Higgs boson - biggest news in physics in 50+ years - almost did not make the front page.
Local news is crucial to democracy, and it's disappearing — according to a new book by Steven Brill, excerpted in @Semafor, approximately twenty-two hundred papers and their websites went out of business between 2005 and 2021. That's created a vacuum into which "pink-slime" sites have poured. Brill writes about these sites that present themselves as legitimate publishers but are created to boost specific candidates and secretly financed by partisan funders, Democrats and Republicans alike.
Federated news publishers include @AxiosNews, @Semafor, @BloombergGreen, @19thnews, @ConversationUS and more. You'll also find many fantastic lifestyle publishers there, such as @Smithsonianmag, @cntraveler, @outside, @Kotaku and @TheRoot. We're working on a better way to separate publisher and curator profile details so you can easily find what you're looking for; stay tuned. If you're a publisher who'd like to onboard to Flipboard or have your account federated, fill in this survey:
“If you are concerned and you want a justice that’s going to stand for the working men and women in this country—it’s not going to be Judge Alito. If you are concerned about women’s privacy rights, about the opportunity for women to gain fair employment in America—it’s not Judge Alito...if you are looking for someone that is going to be a friend of the disabled—it’s not going to be Judge Alito.”
Corporate #media works for the rich and powerful. Stop expecting them to care about the rest of us. They do not care. As long as you remember this, every story they write makes more sense.
while i'm almost impressed by otter.ai's hall of fame level #enshittification, i'm still outraged that they more than doubled the monthly price for the same services & i now need to find a solid offline non-subscription #transcription app. recommendations (besides macwhisper), anyone?
