Had to take apart my ds4 tonight to try to fix my dpad but all attempts to clean the contacts were a dead end. Looks to me like the film circuitry (which is quite cool but) isn't functioning as expected. So it looks like I'll be using the xbox controller for a while.

It would be nice if repairability was a bigger priority for #gaming companies. I feel like this controller is needlessly difficult to take apart. I haven't tried other modern controllers yet but wouldn't be surprised.

@eoinoneill I know these still use carbon contacts for the silk screened PCB. At least on dualshock 3 the backing foam material slowly deformed over time so a solution I've used a few times is to just put some tape in the foam's slot to increase connectivity.
