@nuncio One of my favorites is how they make Android cameras look like garbage. There's no easy way to send a photo to an iPhone from another device.
Either you text it (terrible quality) or you email it or send a link, where the default view is a preview.
Apple's main business model today is misrepresenting the performance of competitors and breaking standards to sell proprietary solutions.
@nuncio Sure, but those things that you're concerned about, you have a lot more control over in AndroidLand than you do in iPhoneLand.
One example, default search and Siri's built in search. Apple gets between $10-15 billion a year to make sure you use Google first, and that it's difficult to change that out across the whole iPhone.
Apple is getting paid to make sure you encounter Google Search.
Beyond that one example, Apple services now collect as much data on you as Google services, and they seem to circumvent the same data protection policies they make other app developers jump through. It's now easier to set up and use an Android device with limited Google tracking than an iPhone with limited Apple tracking.
