a few weeks in to reviving my #meditation practice, feels like front row tickets for a daily tour of personal discomforts and dormant grievances. ironically watching this dismal show buys me a little lightness throughout the day
I've been thinking about the power of visualization lately. It is great to have goals and dreams, but I think it's more likely you reach them if you can really visualize yourself the way you are working to be.
I have started meditating on these visualizations, and it has really started to motivate me.
@Beatlesandworms I try to do this too, and I have a vision board for my goals for the next few years. Just helps me focus on my dreams and the fact that they are attainable if I am strategic
Anyone have good resources for developing a sitting #meditation practice? I’m completely distracted by my posture while trying to breathe… but as someone with #ADHD I’m distracted by a lot of things. 😆
Trying to develop a practice that gets me out of my head and back into the here and now in my body, I’ve really been enjoying the resources from Plum Village https://plumvillage.org/
@sivy If I'm sitting in a chair while meditating I've found it helps if I focus on the contact that my feet have with the ground, and how that feels I can slowly work my thoughts up my body to each bit of contacts its making with the chair, or the breeze, or whatever is touching me. Everything says "focus on your breath" but that might not work for you.
@CarolynStirling Guided meditation focussing on the breath really works for me, especially as I feel the anxiety in my chest a lot. It’s good to breathe properly
Cistus oil, extracted from the rockrose plant, offers tranquility & deep emotional healing. Ideal for reflective moments, its calming scent aids meditation and soothes anxiety. Use it in a diffuser or apply topically mixed with a carrier oil.
Lemon Balm Tea calms the mind and soothes the spirit, making it perfect for reflection and tranquility. Steep 1-2 teaspoons of dried leaves in boiling water for 10 minutes. Enjoy before meditation or bedtime.
Snowflake Obsidian, a stone of purity and balance, aids in grounding and centering during times of change. It promotes inner reflection, helping to release negative thoughts and emotions. Carry or meditate with it to find peace.
