@GottaLaff Just thinking, for no particular reason, about that time when I was working for the government of a non-Arkansas US state; and had to get two superiors to sign off on the purchase of a dictionary & thesaurus at discounted retail price.
*otoh, they were hardback editions; so, yeah, fancy.
$19,000 for a podium? Wowza bowza! Does it wash dishes? Herd sheep? Babysit? Write speeches and deliver them? Whisper state secrets? Bake pizza?
I mean, why?
Ah, wait a minute. A $500 podium with artful secret drawers into which the Governor has stuffed $100,000 in 'emergency cash' just in case she needs to leave town in a hurry--that I can imagine. Especially with this particular governor.
Soon she'll be asking us to address her as "Doctor" as in "Document Doctor".
