Cancelled my wordpress.com plan today. Started using it during a lull in self-hosting.

Not intending to self-host Wordpress though - are there any good tools to convert Wordpress exports into something usable? I'm considering running a static blog off markup or something.

@troed I'm using Hugo for the zeST webpage. basically it converts markdown to formatted, static html, so very convenient for self hosting.
There are export plugins for Wordpress but I haven't tested them.

I tried to enable a PAN network via bluetooth on , so you get internet access and peripherals (keyboard, mouse, joystick) through a single USB dongle (the z7 lite board has only one USB host port, not able to power a hub and multiple peripherals).

It would be an understatement to say that the stack (Bluez) lacks public documentation. I could not find a single up-to-date, step-by-step description of PAN network setup using non-deprecated commands.

So, someone deleted the whole tree on a PC with the client still active, and of course it synchronized that back to the server by putting all the files in the trash…

But they didn't tell me so I didn't know exactly what happened, and we started restoring from trash from two accounts at once… It didn't occur to me that this process wouldn't be atomic 🤷

So now we have a whole set of files and whole folders twice.

Anyone has a tool to clean up that mess or must I write one?

Hi fediverse, I have a question about and licensing.

In my free (GPL) zeST project I'm using video and audio output, and it turns out the boards I'm using have a HDMI video/audio output connector.

One one board (Z-Turn) HDMI is managed by an on-board HDMI transmitter chip, and on the other board (Z7-Lite) the HDMI output is produced by FPGA logic I designed.

Should I be concerned with HDMI licensing? Considered I'm not selling any hardware, just using the hardware I bought.

The AMD/Xilinx software development environment has moved from Eclipse to VSCode(?) since latest 2023.2 release. Some functionalities have been (temporarily?) removed, like the device tree creation.

I Updated the zeST documentation accordingly; no need to run the graphical IDE anymore to build zeST, everything now goes through the command line!

I sent an email to the maintainer of raspi.debian.net , and he replied:
“Well, we are quite far from supporting the RPi5 as far as I can
tell. We don't have any such hardware (that would be the easiest
hurdle to overcome, for sure). ”

regular Linux kernel on RPi5, and that's a much higher hurdle to
overcome: Debian has as a policy not to ship kernels other than the
upstream Linux kernel. Raspberry Pi OS (known before as Raspbian) uses
their own kernel, and they have not pushed their differences to the
upstream code.

So, until the RPi5-specific changes are not made part of Linux, that
will not be made part of Debian... And we will not be able to boot
with it.”
