Is it "unjust" and "mean" to not let Pica lick (but not even eat) my mozzarella sicks?

Facts:

  1. She has done this before
  2. She won't even eat them, just mouth them.
  3. She has a strong opinion about doing this.

@ajroach42 Capcom vs SNK 2 for me lately. Great game to play in short intervals, like when waiting for the train.

@ajroach42 Its an Anbernic Arc. I love the circular d-pad and six face buttons.

No analog stick, but it can't really run 3D Dreamcast games that would need an analog stick anyway.

Satya Nadella says Windows PCs will have a photographic memory feature called Recall that will remember and understand everything you do on your computer by taking constant screenshots. This is a great reason to ditch windows altogether. Switch to 🧑‍💻 They don’t care about your privacy or safety anymore and not hiding it either. Source https://youtu.be/uHEPBzYick0?si=2ekH11gESoyDeq3D

tuckerm,
@tuckerm@saltylike.us avatar

@nixCraft Even if it is local to your device at launch, there's absolutely no way it's going to stay that way. They'll be offering a service to "back up your PC's memories to the cloud" soon enough.

In further proof that although A.I. isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be, it can still produce some comedy gold.

I asked Google’s Gemini to write a Mastodon post in the style of Mr. Funk E. Dude.

Enjoy.

A screenshot that reads “P.S. If you missed the stream, don't fret! The replay is up on my PeerTube channel. Link in bio! P.P.S. May the Funk be with you!”

Look, I totally get it. Israel, tariffs, student loans, or his age might make you angry at Joe Biden.

All I'm suggesting is that unless you think he's doing whatever makes you angry is because he's doing only because he's evil than it's worth the effort to assume that for some reason(s) you may not understand forced him to make an unpopular decision because attacking him only helps the political party that seems at this point to actually be supporting evil imo anyways.

@escarpment @GreenFire I was making a joke about your post sounding like LLM-generated philosophy babble. In a thread about solar panel tariffs, you made a pretty absurd turn at "the universe is a deterministic program."

Streamer is mad about a programming exam and I'm realising how much some exams are about guessing what people mean (and how I've done well because I'm very good at that).

tuckerm,
@tuckerm@saltylike.us avatar

@ahfrom On the one hand, understanding what someone meant to say, instead of just taking what they literally said, is a valuable skill. But it's not the one you should be getting tested on in an exam.

I also wonder if many programmers are uniquely bad at that. I definitely felt like that was the case when I was in college.

When I launched @frontenddogma, I deliberately limited article coverage to 2020 and later.

I’ve just started to feature material from the 90s as well. Please tell me how you like it—and if you have useful (and reliably dated) references to add!

@j9t @frontenddogma That's a great archive. Seeing all of the references to "new" things like XML and Javascript reminded me of this podcast episode with Douglas Crockford, where he talks about the earliest days of Javascript and JSON adoption: https://corecursive.com/json-vs-xml-douglas-crockford
