Got myself a Noodlebox sequencer. I’ve wanted one for maybe three years. Can’t believe I finally have one.

Used too, but in like brand new condition. Amazing.

Pailhead – “Don't Stand In Line” EP (1988)
7", 45 RPM on Wax Trax! Records

One of the more interesting collaborations, featuring Ian MacKaye, Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen, Ministry bassist Paul Barker, and drummer Eric Spicer from Naked Raygun.

Back of album sleeve. Blue and black design with lyrics for each song printed in white. Black 7" vinyl disc below

@Defiance yes! A collab that at the time I did not see coming.

stevenray,
@stevenray@sfba.social avatar

@Defiance yeah. I followed Ministry's progression from their very first album through Psalm 69. By then they were to me so fast and aggressive I just couldn't take it anymore.

I actually credit them for my becoming a jazz fan. One day around '93 I just went in the opposite direction. Ha.

But I loved their early industrial stuff, along with so many other adjacent Wax Trax bands.

@Defiance I did in the year or two after it was released. But my tastes changed as the music (theirs and others) did. I think the sound of that 1st album was dictated by the label, though maybe I'm wrong.

Then there was (Every Day Is) Halloween. Just the beginning of the metamorphosis.

Then there was the side project Revolting Cocks. What a hoot they were.

@mikec415 @Defiance didn’t know. Guess creativity runs in that family!

World-first tooth-regrowing drug will be given to humans in September. “If successful, this therapy could be available to patients with any permanently missing teeth within six years.” https://newatlas.com/medical/tooth-regrowing-human-trial/

@kottke what?! Amazing.

So presumably, denture companies could go completely out of business.

This supposedly strengthens bones too, if I understand it correctly. So old people could for instance stop breaking their hips when they fall, cuz they’re no longer brittle. Right?

@apilsetas thanks for posting this. I hadn't been aware of his work, and now I'm enthralled by his book 'Fiction'.

I found out over the weekend that I'll have a track on the next compilation put out by Difficult Art & Music, scheduled for release around June 8 on . If you're not familiar with them, check 'em out.

I'll share info on another upcoming release in a week or so. 🙂

@w7voa the Instagram nightmare gets worse.

The Washington Post is about to lurch sharply to the right politically as former Murdoch apparatchik solidifies his grip on the organization. Current editor Buzbee is out, and he's bringing in people from Murdoch's Wall Street Journal and the Telegraph (right-wing UK news org).

stevenray,
@stevenray@sfba.social avatar

@dangillmor let’s not forget that Jeff Bezos owns The Post. So he must endorse this rightward shift.

Maybe think about buying things from somewhere other than Amazon.

Can we admit Camilo Doval is not the answer, , ?

@upright yeah. I keep wondering how patient Melvin is going to be with him. He can get back to being dominant, but to me trying Rodriguez in the ninth might be the way to go for now.
