I decided last night that I should bother with updating things and adding connections since I saw so many people pointing to it while at PyCon, and I'm surprised to see people respond to connection requests in the order of minutes.
@pradyunsg I'm not a huge fan of LinkedIn's platform dynamics, but it was actually (much to my surprise) quite helpful with a job search last year. 🤷🏻♂️
@paulox The Architecture of Open Source Applications (https://aosabook.org/en/) was a great read about open source. Editors are Amy Brown and Greg Wilson.
All the chapters can be read online for free, but I think paperbacks are also available on Amazon.
I’ve been using Mailchimp forever but their prices seem to go up by $100 every other month these days and I’m not really using many of their features. Yet our web apps are pretty tied in with their APIs so changing is non trivial.
Anyone have a recommendation of an excellent alternative with personalized campaign features (e.g. convert kit)?
The famous Orca Carbon Capture Plant in Island is currently in the news quite a lot. Various VIPs fly there and take selfies in front of it. It is the largest carbon capture plant on this planet and captures 4000 tonnes of CO2 per year. Sounds impressive! How much is that? The annual footprint of roughly 330 Germans 🙈
@bastianallgeier I stopped consuming geopolitical and tech-sector news about ~200 days ago (I’m using a habit tracker to track this) and I highly recommend doing it, if possible.
A lot of the news at the moment seems to be negative and/or sensationalist and/or clickbait and I feel that avoiding it has had a very positive impact on my mental health.
Can anyone recommend an MFA TOTP app for #iOS that doesn’t require an account to use please? I have Authy at the moment, but they ask for phone number and email for some reason.
I just want an app to handle a couple tokens outside of @bitwarden.
I actually did set it up in the past but didn’t use it because at that time it felt a bit less “managed” compared to the alternatives. Although I could be wrong.
@sckottie thanks! Although I don't see the total download numbers there. 🤔 It only shows me the counts for last day/week/month, and some graphs with timeseries data.
I'd describe GeniePy's value proposition more in terms of code you don't have to write.
With Clerk for instance, you would work directly with the Clerk UI to manage users. What GeniePy gives you is a base web application that includes Clerk SDK integration to give you a functioning web application (with user authentication) on day one.
Along those lines, I don't know if I could show the demo site source code, because the source code is the product.
