At Moti Cafe in River North. We often go here after Church on Sunday for Chai and snacks. It is the only place you can get a good authentic chai in Downtown Chicago.
Always worth remembering this. Saw this sign last weekend at Middle East Bakery in Andersonville, Chicago. It is a great Arabic grocery store with a small restaurant attached to it. They make many things fresh, including some good spice mixes.
Taken at Patel Brothers on Devon Avenue during one of our frequent trips to get good food and groceries. Since I started posting here, I notice certain things more often and this photo just struck me.
Sometimes when we walk, we pass by this statue of Jesus at the Queen of Angels Church right off Welles Park in Lincoln Square. We often call him Bangra Jesus. Put on some Bangra music and look at the photo - ROFL
Stone on the shore of the North Branch of the Chicago River. A world contained in every opening. You never know what you might find if you only look closely.
Saw this last week on my way to work. These butterflies were everywhere around Chicago! I was struck but the contrast of the butterfly with the faded college posters.
Been a bit busy so I have not had a chance to post in a while - hope to post some more photos over the next few days. I really enjoy #Pixelfed but sometimes hate posting from my phone. Looking forward to the update that will allow HEIC photos from the website.
We went to Devon Avenue (Little India / Little Pakistan) yesterday for some shopping. It is Ramadan right now and many places are having Ramadan or Eid sales. The photo is not the best. The day was grey and you can see the reflection in the window. But there is just something that I really liked about the sign.
One of the more iconic signs in River North. I took this on Thursday evening on my way to church for Maundy Thursday. I feel lucky to have seen the sign in this light because I am not usually there at this time.
Dome of Sulzer Regional Library, Ravenswood, Chicago. We really lucked out when we moved to this neighbourhood. It is a true 15 minute neighbourhood and our one of our favorite spots is the Library.
