Started watching #TheBear and I have no idea why so many people compared it to #TedLasso. Instead of a nice relaxing dive into positivity, it starts off with the aftermath of a suicide and then lingers on close-ups of people's hands chopping food with dull knives until they cut themselves.

Ever wondered why every animal doesn't evolve a complex, flexible, problem solving brain like humans? Brains are expensive.

The brain, unlike any other organ, runs only on sugar. Thinking hard requires more glucose than relaxing & zoning out. When you are asked to do a thinking task & say "I'm too tired" -it's real!

~20% of calories go to the brain. If a rabbit wanted to expand its gray matter it would need more food-- being a little smarter doesn't always translate into better survival.

Honestly, I think artists worry a bit too much about their work being used to train #generativeAI applications, since humans have always looked at other people's works of art and used them for inspiration.

However, where it gets dangerous is this sort of case, where a ton of derivative works get labeled with the artist's name until the original art is buried under a mountain of cheap computer knockoffs.

I have a good friend from Mexico who lives in San Francisco.

I am sad about how I think the Chinese food in SF is mid, but I give her lists of places I like anyway.

She is sad about how she thinks the Mexican food in SF is mid, but she gives me lists of places she doesn’t mind.

So when we are both mad about not loving our respective foods, we eat off the other person’s list, and we are happy to try something exciting and new.

I eat Mexican food all the time.
