I don't know if I shared this tool, F3D, or not:
Anyway it is a fast compact 3D model viewer for Mac, Win, and Lin. https://f3d.app/
Recommended as it is free and fine. #3d#cad#viewer
@metin And walking around in a grinning state of zen, ignoring all the BS is good I suppose.
Psychology is down there with astrology imo.
I shall continue my mission of moaning like a champ. 😂
@metin A lot of these old models are nice for the time but I always think it would be nice to through it through a modern render engine, as is.
I think the results would be very nice, I have a lot of old ones that I think to do but never find the time. Plus importing exporting from old tools is a pain too. Maya and Max in particular, I still have Modo so that isn't too bad. 😂
Just wanted to watch a Blender video demo and unfortuately it was uploaded as HDR. This isn't a problem on non HDR screens but on my MacBook it is burning my retina.
HDR is not a good format for Application UI's the whites of the text and interface are stupid bright so a massive contrast issue.
I shall have to watch it on my Dell monitor. #b3d#Tutorial#Demos#hdr#video
@metin Yea I am still rocking a GTX 1080 which is able to handle most things.
Blender is starting to be a pain though as I am getting out or GPU Ram often now. My scenes are tiny so not sure what is happening.
YouTube is getting worse in general their shorts are just crap and the way they push crap at one is just annoying.
The HDR thing is gimicky imo and hard to watch even nature videos hurt my eyes.
@metin@Shkspr80@FotoVorschlag Nice picture of tranquility.
I for one do miss the quiet of lockdown, the older I get the harder I find it to be amongst people en masse.
As a freelancer in my twenties, I often worked (and played games) all night long, and went to bed when the birds announced sunrise. Then I got up in the early afternoon, and immediately continued work while still in my pajamas.
A friend once gave me a necktie for my birthday, to wear on my pajamas when a client would visit me. 😆
I haven't got a photo of me in my pajamas, but in this magazine interview photo you can clearly see around my eyes that I missed a healthy sleep rhythm. 😅
The Eszett ß character is a beautiful letter that can be read as S or double S as in Straße <> Strasse.
The problem is it isn't in the standard Latin character set and so often causes extremely bizzare rendering when used online.
I tried to enter an address with it in a UK banking app and ended up with total nonsense.
This, in 2024, should not be happening it is in the extended ASCII set and so doesn't even require UTF-8.
Some companies are living in the 80's
@metin@CWernerArt ß sz is certainly the origin of the letter, it is a cursive S and Z together.
So yes, however it was removed from a lot of words in recent spelling reforms here, my wife wasn't happy with those. They changed Ski to Schi for example, an ugly word. I think most still use Ski though 😂
Affinity has been bought by Canva, to compete with Adobe.
It was of course a matter of time before Affinity would outgrow its status of sympathetic small-scale Adobe alternative, and be sold for large proceeds.
Canva is into AI. Hopefully Affinity will get some useful AI-powered image processing tools, like upscalers and denoisers, but Canva will probably add generative shit and introduce subscriptions sooner or later.
When I was a youngster in the late 1980s, I formed an Amiga game dev team with 2 friends.
Before making games, we started by trying to sell game music that used minimal RAM, made with our music editor SIDmon.
To promote our game music, this energetic music module was composed by our musician Ramon Braumuller. The file, including tiny sampled sounds, is only 22 kilobytes.
