I work on back-end server-y type stuff at a place that keeps rockin' the free web. I like rust, python, and horrible puns (not necessarily in that order).

I tend to be nice for selfish reasons (I don't like hanging out with jerks).

We agree to disagree because there are times when I am lazy and just want to pour some of this crap on leftover chicken and make myself a quick sandwich rather than go through the effort of doing it correctly.

(I'll admit it doesn't have the same edge, but if I want that, I'll add Tapa Tio or whatever.)

I can’t speak for the author, but I would be mad that the friend valued the time they saved writing the request more than my time answering it.

If I ever get something like that, they absolutely get the unedited response from the cheapest AI I can paste the message into.

Since #Microsoft #Recall will not record DRM'd content, maybe running a DRM'd movie in a small window on your PC will disable it from recording the entire screen/desktop?

Also, how does it work across multiple monitors? Take a shot of the entire desktop across all monitors? Or just the active monitor?

Always laugh when I read some article that says “Remove sweat stains from hats with a mixture of vinegar and baking soda!”

No, it doesn’t work. At best the acid in the vinegar mixes with the base in baking soda, and makes a salt. You’re just adding more salt to the problem.

This is why you don’t sleep through the chemistry portion of sixth grade science class.

The other is that the dark stain is from skin oils, not salt, so enzymes have a better chance, unless the oils lacquered due to heat

All of this is to remind myself that I am not getting that damn hat band stain out because I wear that hat in the sun, sweat, and the oils lacquer nearly instantly.

I should just wear darker hats.

Windows 11 Pro is $259 CAD. I know I know it is still cheaper than a set of wheels for a Mac Pro but for personal use that is still a LOT of money.

How does an independent nerd like myself, not a pro business enterprise user, get a Windows 11 Pro license for say .. under $50? Is that possible?

The only thing I found is kinguin.net .. but can I trust that? It looks ... sketchy …
