It seems, my trekking shoes are going for their end of life 😭
It's the second time that they crack at this spot. Luckily Salewa offers a 3 year extended warranty. Unfortunately I didn't register them for this warranty, so that it is of no help for me 😢

I used them for about 3+ years now. So they definitely did some duty. Yet it still bugs me that the material is cracking there. The rest of the shoes is great.

I'm not sure if I buy this model again or not...

Just discovered, that #selfie is thing as well. So I wanted to share one of my selfies: I took it early this year during a 8h solo #winter hike in the local #mountains. It was probably one of the tougher hikes I ever did: 8h, 24km, over 1000m elevation gain, a large part of the distance in snow shoes.

At this spot it was pretty chill. It was okay while in motion. Yet standing still for some moments, the cold started to bite.

Recently I heard a podcast where a Scientist was interviewed. He was super competent and informative. But it definitely wasn't fun listening. He simply wasn't a great speaker.

And I think that's a problem of nowadays society. I've heard a couple of times that the scientific "community" dislikes people who can both simplify AND talk properly to people.

But if you want to reach the masses, I think it's exactly those ppl who are essential to bring knowledge to the masses.

I finished the #photos from last weekend. This is directly from the start. And I admit, I had a pretty WOW feeling.

I'm not 100% satisfied as I wanted even more blur in the front. But still it's been one of the greatest views at the start of a hike I ever had.

When you hit reply, the cursor jumps a couple of milliseconds later to a newline.

If I'd be more into android coding, I'd try to search the bug.. But currently this is the least I can do right now.

About the photo: it was one of the first shots that I took during a photo walk in the snow last year after having my new camera in my hands.

At that point I was heading down from a mountain. I wanted to get into the low hanging clouds but the clouds did rise up faster than me. So I returned back down and tried some shots in the forest

We did this trail ... many years ago and we always wanted to revisit it. (of course I felt challenged to take better photos as well)

Happy #sunday ! Yesterday night I just sat down and processed all the shots from the #hike. I must admit I was a bit surprised how well some of them turned out 😄

The hike was very steep, cold, windy - and for quite some time we didn't meet any people (whcih changed on the way down).

But we were really rewarded with some beautiful #autumn views!

Last year I bought a (second hand) #fitbit Inspire3 Pulse Watch. Well, I just wanted to test a gadget that tells me my heart rate wehen I was doing #sports / #hiking in the #mountains / #cycling and #running etc.

It's really a nice gadget but I also learned that I do not REALLY need it. Maybe I'll sell it again - or just use it for SOME sports units. But I go back to my analoge watch again for tay to day.

I'm done now with cleaning up the start page of my #photography website!

• removed the right panel
• changed the featured galleries to a slick one column display
• fixed the headline alignment
• moved the link to the archives at the end
• added another featured gallery to the overview that I just had FORGOTTEN 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

All that - knowing that really not a lot of people will visit it 😄

I did it! I decided to discontinue reading a book that simply doesn't amaze me.

Usually I finish almost every book that I start. It feels like leaving something unfinished. Can you relate to that?

But ... Life is too short to read books that I don't really like.

And there it is! My #Blogpost about my stunner shot and the process from the original shot to the final result. For me it is a great example how "leaving things out" can both change and improve a photograph. Just "simply" cropping created a completely new interpretation of the scene.

I added the #photos + marked the crops so that you can follow the crop-process.
