I have been WAITING for Sander van de Bor of California STEAM to start selling his very cool LED wearables as necklaces and just got my hands on his new Amoracci pendant. A supercapacitor (not a battery) provides power so it can charge in about 10 minutes and run lots of different built in patterns for 15 hours straight. It is also quite lightweight and comfortable which is great considering how much I will be wearing it!!! #wearables#ledwearables
I love this image of my son photographing the Aurora Borealis from the airplane window as we fly home from Illinois. Ironically, I tried to see the Northern Lights in Iceland last year, spending two very cold nights in a freezing field without success. Plane viewing is definitely the way to go.
@geekmomprojects Back when I was younger I used to go up to Northern MN for Aurora watching. I got to the point where I could look at the instruments on the SOHO observatory, and beeline north an hour or so from Minneapolis when they were favorable. I got to see Aurora often. As in at least once a week. Some displays were weak and spotty, but others were strong. The Aurora forecasts came out of some of the data gathered.
My husband is growing cherry tomato plants and has numbered them to track the different breeds (image 1) I thought I'd give him a little help this morning (image 2)
I was disappointed that I couldn't get my combat robot, Footloose, ready in time for the Robobrawl tournament last month. However, I found a plastic antweight tournament in Southern California that takes place today and will finally get a chance to put Footloose to the test. Had to modify the weapon, as there is no metal allowed here. It's a single elimination tournament, so it could be over quickly, but there are lots of bots here and it should be a fun event regardless.
OMG - I won my 2nd bout against a bot and driver who has won competitions before! The adrenaline rush is intense! Got a bystander to take video. Here is the match in full:
We adopted a super sweet 8 month old pup from a shelter two weeks ago and were convinced he was a Rottie-Shepherd mix. Just got the DNA results back, and, through his genes are primarily "mutt," the rest of the results have us going 😳
Look at this cute couple of Cuttlefish! I created the first illuminated plushie to exchange with another maker and liked it so much I built another for myself. The #pixelblaze controller makes it easy to coordinate patterns.
Look at the beautiful LED helix sculpture I got from @graemegets !!! It has three helical strands of very densely packed 2020-sized Neopixel strips controlled by a #pixelblaze controller and it is stunning!!!
@ishotjr@ArchiteuthisFlux thank you! I was searching for him, but his handle wasn't coming up for some reason (possibly an inability on my end to spell his handle!)
