One city’s long-running lawsuit against the world’s largest gunmakers is jeopardized by a bill that would allow only the state to sue.

If passed, the law would be retroactive to Aug. 27, 1999 — three days before the lawsuit was filed.

This side of the disk would play the game upside down (saw that in action with an original last week at #OzKFest2023) – apocryphally, if someone rang Brøderbund support and said “My Karateka is upside down!”, the techs would calmly respond “Oh, that’s because the disk is upside down, turn it over to fix!” 🤣

I seem to recall Jordan Mechner stumbled upon an easy reverse method and thought it would be fun.

I keep seeing people say they miss seeing news as they did on Twitter, especially breaking news. I’m still a three day timeline away from #T00t, and am often 12-24 hours away (as I often was on Twitter) ain’t nothing breaking about the news I’ve seen on any of my timelines over the last 3 years!

Is it only me that thinks being on the spectrum shouldn't reduce your moral culpability when thinking whether to upstart your teenage students?

It’s only partly due to me replacing “not getting to my RSS feed reader anymore” to either following accounts here or using mastofeeder.com to integrate my “keeping up to date” reading. It’s only partly due to a couple of extra follows. It’s only partly due to being less sick so less stationary. It all adds up. I’ve already ditched FB, Slack and Discord. What’s on the drawing board, europlus? Better storage and access for my (13) Apple ][‘s is what’s on the drawing board. Not exactly cheap, though – approaching AU$400. But just compare vs current setup! Considering alt construction types, but this is the general idea using drawer slides to bring machines out. Maybe I just have fixed shelves (will save about ⅓ of total cost and simplify construction). Hmm, looking at it, I can save a further ⅓ by routing channels for shelves instead of supports.

Hey, @ivory, @IceCubesApp and @MonaApp – free feature idea: a browser button on post compose screen so I can quickly search for a site to add the address to a post. Bonus points for selecting text and doing the fancy “link to highlighted” text thing. More often than not, when I realise I want to link to something, it’s in the middle of posting, so I have to switch out to Safari, find or go to what I’m looking for, copy the address, then come back to paste it. Think GIF button, but for websites.
