I did not want to, I thought of every reason not to... but I did it, I cleaned my fridge.

I did not fully clear out the doors. I grabbed the obvious old/expired stuff, but I didn't empty and wipe them down. A project for later, or another day.

Pics to follow later today. The crisper drawers are still out and air-drying.

Alright, did a small amount of cleaning out the fridge while I was waiting for coffee to happen.

Something I've really started to do that is helping is instead of being like "I'm going to clean for X hours" is just, do little bits here and there. Weirdly this actually makes MORE progress, and is far more sustainable.

Like wiping down that counter last night while waiting on take out. Making tidying/cleaning a part of the flow of my day.

With several leather garments in the Elfkin commission queue, I think it's time to upgrade to a servo motor on my industrial machine. When it comes down to it, this seems much simpler than installing a reduction pulley with my 1958 vintage clutch motor. Now accepting all thoughts and recommendations on the topic.

Society will go out of its way to shame and try to change the person who hoards old magazines, empty to-go containers, bobblehead figurines, cats, etc. The person who hoards wealth, on the other hand, will find society all too willing to help them justify and glorify that behavior.

Today's plan is to bake a sourdough loaf for the road, and then pack up the vacation rental.

Leaving tomorrow, making a two day pit stop in Seattle, then back to my house.

The only thing that's exciting about this is the sourdough, everything else sucks. I don't wanna go back. Although I suppose I am also very excited about starting my new job.

But yeah... expect me to be quiet, or very sad on the TL the next week or so.

My day started with my espresso machine kicking the bucket... I case y'all are wondering how things are going over here :/

It's pouring rain, construction is loud. I feel grumpy and have a bit of a headache.

Debating how much I can afford to spend on a new machine right now... And if I can get one local ish in Westport, or if it needs to wait til I go back. 5 days with no latte sounds like so many.

@MsHearthWitch Egads! I have lived this moment and feel your pain. FWIW, the last time this happened to us, I bought one of those old school Bialetti stovetop moka pots. Life alteringly better than all previously used methods.

I didn’t have any paneer, but I did have some baked tofu, so that went into tonight’s curry with peas and mushrooms. Accompanied on the plate by potatoes fried in butter with mustard and nigella seeds.

@MsHearthWitch They are just such depressing spaces. More than half of the shelves are bare. There seems only ever to be one person working the register no matter how long the line through the off-brand snack maze. And the lingering miasma of potpourri and room sprays kinda makes me wanna vom.

If there's anything that I've learned in my many years of #sewing and making #art / #photography, it is that there is no such thing as "correct technique.” If your way of making a thing gets you the thing that you wanted, then you used the correct technique for you.

Which isn't to argue against trying new techniques. It's just to remind that in all creative endeavors (and lives), many paths lead to the same result. It's okay to pick the one that suits you and not worry about the others.

As an aside to this image, it's hard to overstate just how legit grimy was back in the 1990s. (Look at that wall behind the boi!) We loved her anyhow, of course.

But the Kids Today complain about how dirty the city has become in the past couple of years, and all I can think is, “you all have no idea.”

When I last saw Lisa in November, we talked about a commission to make a shorts suit with some lovely double thick wool crepe that she found in Italy.

Then she went to Paris last month and picked up these fabrics.

So now we’re contemplating a collarless, cap sleeved top with the rose-embroidered silk mesh, a balloon-sleeved, high collared blouse with the feathery taupe silk gauze, and a pencil skirt with the black wool (not shown).

Feathery solid waves of metallic edge silk on a tightly woven silk mesh.
