... and I'm back! An unfortunate sequence of events (involving ancient account details) lead to me failing to renew my personal domain, so it broke DNS... which broke my self-hosted Mastodon as well
So Mypy didn’t save us from this test error 😔. But it seems that calling quantize() with a bool exp isn’t "wrong" in #Python stdlib - I wish it was though.
I'm on call for another 10 hours at my day job, and so far I've been working most of the weekend. The really frustrating part is none of the issues we've experienced this weekend have been with my systems, but with systems that I interact with. We have a TON of monitoring on our tools, and it appears that our monitoring is far in excess of the monitoring done by other departments. I shouldn't be the one telling other groups their stuff is down.
I guess I am a bit weird. But when you get solar electricity effectively for free, can use it yourself at home, maybe even store it in batteries — didn't you already get enough? Why all this fuss about selling the excess electricity? Just give it away to your neighbours, for free. Whatever gets used locally, reduces the problems on the grid, which is often used an excuse by Big Electricity to refuse to buy solar electricity. 1/n
@jwildeboer there is the grid in between at least if I don't also want to build the infrastructure for my neighbour. I like the idea absolutely but I am afraid that the net companies will not participate in this shareconomy.
