We enjoy creating compost and worm bins on a small scale to produce beautiful gardens.

We invite you to join other enthusiasts who share the same interest in composting at #Compostodon.

Composting is a simple way to take #climateaction that anyone can practice.

Please take note that in this community, we do not tolerate climate change deniers and appropriate measures will be taken if necessary.

The best way to learn for free is to go to your local public and check the they have on the subject.

What was the book that got your attention and made you want to compost? It will help those who want to start.

I can't celebrate #CompostingDay without paying my respects to Mr Charles Dowding.

He is the creator of the #nodig system and found that you could use deep compost on your garden beds as a mulch to feed the soil.

You can grow a massive amount of food in a small space and close the loop by feeding your waste to the compost.

If anyone here knows him please convince him to be on mastodon.

Composting is a very ancient practice. The natives in America used to compost a lot.

Way later, we rediscovered their work and called the soil they engineered Terra Preta.

Since then we have been on a quest to understand this holy grail of soil that could allow us to fix issues like hunger or climate change.

They understood before everyone that carbon had to be put back into the soil.

Rhonda Sherman is a vermicomposting specialist. Her work in the USA has been a reference for many worm farmers.

She explains in this video everything you need to know to work with composting worms on a small scale.

Today one of my projects will be to start a new worm bin.

Over the warm winter, the worm population has exploded and they need more space to be happy.

If you have any questions on how to install a worm bin at home or your office, feel free to ask the #compostodon community and ourselves.

This video is a reference on how to compost on a small scale.

You can start a simple worm bin that you can let in a closet.

We let our worms inside over winter and when it is well managed it does not smell bad.

Happy #CompostingDay.

Composting is that amazing tool that will allow you to do something about the #climate.

George Washington according to US history was the first one to introduce the practice at his farm and he asked his workers to harvest all the organic matter around and make a pile with it.

Even if you do not have a garden you can still compost indoors year-round with composting worm bins.

If you want to learn composting you can go to your local library or check Youtube which has a lot of videos.

It is and we will all day celebrate this event.

The gives us two options: deny it or accept the reality. We have chosen the latest.

If anxiety is a thing for you, composting is a simple tool anyone can practice. A worm bin will do that job if you do not have a garden.

If you do not know how to compost there is one thing you can do, go to your local and grab all the books on that you can find.

Please boost this message and help us inspire the and to be the change.

Composting worms don't live very long just a few years but they reproduce very fast and as soon as the conditions don't suit them, they hatch. The amount of waste they process is mind-blowing.

It is best to do it two times a year, one time in the fall so that the compost can be processed over winter and one time in the spring so that the soil can deal with the summer.

We do not have a strict rule and every time we can harvest our bins we do it.

It really depends on what you are trying to achieve with your soil.

Maybe you want to take a few samples on your property and send them to a lab.

They will tell you what your soil is made of and what it needs.

Then you will be able to think of a strategy on how to create those needs.

You have to think of your soil as a fridge. If the fridge is empty you have an issue, if your fridge is full of the same food that is also not good.

We made #Compostodon to make sure that every day is #CompostingDay.

We are the change by showing how we reduce our waste instead of sending it to landfills.

" Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievance."

This is the first amendment of the Constitution of the USA. It is the most valid and legal thing to protest peacefully against war. That is called democracy.

Everyone can celebrate it on #compostodon and share what they have been doing.

It is #MemorialDay in the USA.

A lot of veterans own composting businesses so if you want to do something for them you may want to look around.

I wish their suffering and service were not in vain. We stand for a ceasefire in the middle-east and we do not care either for Israel or Palestine as long as they keep trashing the holy land.

No one becomes great with war.

“The more a thing tends to be permanent, the more it tends to be lifeless.”
― Alan Watts

What I like the most about composting is that the entropy of decaying matter is not just a pile of dust. It is not something dead.

It is alive, and what you are trying to achieve is the management of life around you.

With a simple pile of #compost, you can shape a new reality that was not here before.

I am amazed at how much waste composting worms can process.

When a worm bin is well-managed, it never smells bad and the worms prefer not to escape from their house. Also, no intruders will interfere with them.

A worm bin is the most efficient and elegant way to compost inside or outside.

It is a very powerful solution to stop sending your waste to landfills and to help the

If I do not speak about where I live it is simple.

In our conservative neighborhood, we have a few African American families. In one of them, they have people who like to walk.

I could not help but notice that they prefer to only walk in their long walkway and not in the neighborhood because they don't want to deal with that.

No one here that I know of appears to feel sorry about that. So if you happen to find yourself in those situations I see you and yes I understand perfectly what you are doing. And If you want we walk to the park I am fine with that.

This White America is racist. To be honest I find those people to be uncivilized and I assure you there is nothing great about that.
