For no obvious reason whatsoever, AmiTCP (a third party port port of the BSD IP stack to AmigaOS that was used a bunch) enabled the chargen service (a service that just sends printable ASCII characters as fast as possible) and had no firewall so back in the 90s you could just DoS Amiga users by connecting to port 19 on their machine and they'd saturate their uplink and ping out of IRC and not everything in the past was better

The TrackPoint of my Lenovo T14s stopped working. No biggie, I thought, Lenovo is an easy to service hardware vendor, and went online to search for a new TrackPoint. Turns out you have to buy the whole top cover including keyboard and touchpad. Wow, that's bad, I thought. And expensive.
But this was before I checked the maintenance manual how to remove the top cover. The short answer is: You don't. It's where everything is attached to. EVERYTHING.

Tatsächlich hat zum einen Covid den Prozess extrem verlangsamt, zum anderen dauert im Filmbereich ALLES immer jahrelang, egal ob Skriptentwicklung, Finanzierung oder Produktion. Wer schon mal Making-Ofs gesehen hat von so ziemlich allem, was Disney und Pixar in den letzen 20 Jahren gemacht hat, weiß, dass auch bei hundertprozentigen Vollprofis von der ersten Idee bis zur Premiere eines Films locker ein Jahrzehnt vergehen kann.
@ralphruthe Ich bin ja dafür Kinder auch mal mit etwas weniger weichgespülten Medien zu konfrontieren. Beispielsweise "The Secret of NIMH" oder die unzensierte Version von "Bluey", aber das ist schon sehr hart. Aber das ist vielleicht so wie wenn man Kindern ein wenig Bier gibt, das verliert dann schnell den Reiz des Verbotenen.

@ralphruthe Ich finde da auch die Darbietung großartig. Ja es gibt so "Fontal-Messages", aber die sind immer in einem ironisch gebrochenen Kontext. Das Thema Feminismus ist halt nicht so einfach... es sei denn man ist im Barbieland. Das ist Feminismus zum Mitlachen. Humor als Methode kritisches Denken anzuregen. Das ist wie ein guter Postillion-Artikel.

@slothrop Yes that's also why competent companies tend to write such things a bit fuzzy and more in the style of "what we use". In fact for one position (student job) we actually don't write any requirements. It's just "here's an account with us, do something fun with it".
What just happened to the .ml domain should be a clear enough signal that decentralization that relies on DNS is no decentralization at all. Basically, the Mali government suddenly decided that foreigners aren’t allowed to use that TLD any more, and any fedi instances which did use it are now gone. You can bitch about blockchains and NFTs all you like, but nobody has yet invented a better solution for domain management.
@miki Well actually yes, DNS is far more decentralized than anything you can do on blockchains as it doesn't rely on a central blockchain that needs to be in sync for everyone.
Yes DNS is partially centralized, but you can choose which TLD you use and therefore which rules you need to follow.
@miki Yes, but TLDs are held by orgainisations with a wide spread of interrests and rulesets. It's not like some centralized blockchain where a few "miners" decide what makes it onto it and what doesn't.
