HI FOLKS!

We've just upgraded to Mastodon v4.2.9, although not as seamlessly as we'd like!

Our initial upgrade failed and we had to roll back to an earlier version. The Mastodon devs have identified an issue between our config and the upgrade, and have added an important note to their release notes:

Last month I saw a toot making fun of a news article posted when #Prince died, erroneously claiming that he had once covered #NeilYoung's "Cinnamon Girl", clearly not knowing Prince's song of the same name is entirely different. Ever since, I keep thinking about Prince's song - which is absolutely fantastic, and still tragically very timely 20 years later - but I cannot stop my brain from subbing in Young's voice because of that stupid article.

My question is: was no one pressing records in 1966? There's only one album in our list from that year (Alton Ellis) and it's not even a full album, it's a compilation that includes some singles released in '66.

And yeah totally, I think sheet music publication would definitely have been like an album release date. I guess technically classical pieces without a particular performance don't meet the definition of an "album", but I'm glad they're in the list, makes me listen to stuff I wouldn't normally.

I just finished adding all the 1966 albums y'all sent in (turns out, ALL the albums came out in 1966, lol), and then did some math. :calculator:

The List now has 1066 albums BUT 113 are on the "official" list. That means we still have 48 spots left to fill before we technically hit 1001 "other" albums. So, yeah, still accepting submissions. :mariobrosdance:
