Okay, so learning spanish with #Duolindo, I have to transpose the English into Spanish but also transpose the Spanish sentence into the English equivalent.

¡Qué falda tan bonita!

Translates as "what a pretty skirt".

But the tips render it as, "what a skirt so pretty". Which makes sense, but I guess that's part of the reason ppl question some of the strange sentences the app comes up with.

Saw them asking Priti Patel about plans to help vulnerable people.

Thought to myself "why are they asking her about that"? before realising that's something the Home Office is supposed to do.

It's meant to keep people safe.

What a damning indictment of the Home Office of recent years that I should be so surprised at having to connect those two things.

I keep hearing the Tories defending the defeat at yesterday's by-elections as being due to low turnout.

Having a look at the numbers they do have a point, actual Labour numbers went up slightly in one since the last election, and down slightly in one, BUT the critical point here is this:

Tory voters aren't bothering to turn up to vote.

I would like to wholeheartedly support this lack of action on their part.
