How do you handle highly intimate scenes?

With words and emotions.

Be it lovers entwined, a refection on someone's death, a mental break down, or that quiet moment two people understand a relationship is over.

If we're being coy and really mean "two people fucking" then I don't.

    We need to stop pretending what is happening on the right is just political disagreement. It runs deeper than that. It's a malevolence that has always been there and has been so empowered that these people will die to defend those who empower it further. I expect within the next week we'll see violence.

    As an aside, pride this year is going to be more dangerous than ever.

    Watching the aftermath of the trial, the GOP is going full into the idea that Trumps crimes were fabricated. They're going full in on lawlessness as the new party platform. It's never been more transparent. It's also fucking terrifying. Several state AGs are trying to drum up charges against democrats claiming "election interference". There is no peaceful end to this, and I urge you all to prepare for violence. Make sure you have emergency supplies, water, and defensive weapons.

    29 How would your MC handle finding a spider in their home?

    Our Hero don't like spiders and will kill them on sight. Quickly. He doesn't fear them, either, so he'll do it with his bare hands, no matter the species, using a finger if it's a small one, or his fist, if it's something like a tarantula. Scorpions are the exception. With those he'll use either the energy sword, or throwing any heavy object at hand at the "bug". Like Laura. And yes, he did that once…>=)

    More than they should but no as much as they should. All of Our Hero's team are legally dead, and all of them in fact died and were revived with the medical regenerator. They don't think much about their own death because they know 2 things:

    1. They can be revived

    2. They KNOW there's no afterlife

    But they do think about other people's death. With joy if it's their targets, and with sadness if it's about everyone else's…

    I didn't even touch on CoPilot, nor did I give my Very Opinionated(?) Take that if you think like I do, you should stop using ChatGPT, OpenAI, any of the AI image tools you're using to make blog pictures, etc. But those are also important.

    Google is getting what they want out of this, attention. Negative attention about their awful LLM fueled search still draws the spotlight from OpenAI. The people who lose here are people who rely on Google for accurate information.

    Well, RIP games journalism. Good luck finding an objective review. It was difficult before, now it'll be near impossible.

    Recently, I've been watching small Youtubers video's for reviews. It's hardly reliable, though. It's important to stay small because I'm beginning to think the larger ones aren't exactly being objective either.

    I've not seen a single post on Mastodon about this. Nobody cares, and nobody realizes how potentially damaging this could be.

    A message for trans folks in the US:
    Please start using encrypted comms where you can and VPNs when you can't, especially when talking about trans stuff. The worse things get here, the more important our privacy becomes. If it comes to hiding and escaping from the government, untraceable and encrypted comms will be essential.

    We can't rely on the majority of big tech to not sell us out to save themselves.

    After some time since playing Starfield I've reflected a bit on the game.

    Frankly, it's impressive how mediocre the game was after how much time and money was put into it.

    The choice in November is dichotomous:
    Accelerate Netanyahu's genocide or not
    Creating a domestic genocide of trans folks or not
    Loss of free elections or not
    Loss of access to abortion or not

    Biden sucks but his party is whats stopping a national ban on abortion and trans care. Trump explicitly said he'd support Netanyahu and provide more weapons and money. Abortion federally will go the same way it has in red states regardless of what Johnson says. All votes cast or not matter.

    If the thing you specifically care about is not on that list, keep in mind, it's not comprehensive. There is no scenario in which Trump is a better choice for anything progressive. A GOP super majority would catapult us into autocracy and fascism. They are solely motivated by punishing their perceived enemies. The first people they'll go after are queer folk and people of color. This is too important to fuck around with.

    I get to pick from 12 Essays for an English assignment. At first I was worried they’d all be boring and outdated. Nope!

    I just want to say how happy I was to see disabled people represented! Yes, I’ll be writing about internalized ableism for my second assignment… buckle up Prof, it’s going to be a fun ride lol

    Also represented in the selection of Essays: Indigenous writers, Queer writers, and Black writers.

    Universal basic income mitigates tunneling, meaning that people are more able to think beyond just one focus. The need to earn survival income tends to function like blinders that block out everything else but your focus on basic needs. Until they're obtained, we can't think beyond.

    I am an active luddite and do what I can to sabotage AI.

    When does it cross the line?

    1. When steals training material.
    2. When it plagiarizes or mimics others.
    3. When they utilize immoral terms of service. i.e looting social media that have implemented "legalized theft."
    4. When it attempts to substitute itself for real individuals.
    5. When it attempts to pass itself off as human output.
    6. When it attempts to imply it is "intelligence."

    In other words, everything that currently labels itself as AI. "Deep Learning" tools could be acceptable but not as they are currently implemented and run.

    Oh forgot when it uses "sweatshop" labor.

    AI crossing the line

    It never crosses the line.

    Humans using it cross the line.

    If it tells the writer a sentence is wrong, that’s fine. If the writer substitutes the sentence AI provides, that’s the line crossed.

    And that's just the little stuff.

    I shouldn’t have to explain this.
