@thomas Ich gehöre noch zu den Rückständigen, die sich auch gern physikalische Medien zulegen, wenn was ganz besonders toll ist. 🫣 Find vollgestopfte Festplatten irgendwie… „unromantisch“. 😂
Dafür digitalisiere ich jeden Brief und Dokument, was hier ins Haus kommt, um das Papier nicht aufheben zu müssen. 🤭

Apart from being better for the environment, periodic #sewing of reusable fabric #napkins has provided me:

• instant gratification from a quick/easy project in between larger projects;

• experimentation using different guides & feet in different ways;

• practice sewing straight lines without guides and with imperfections not mattering much;

• etc.;

But mostly, sewing reusable fabric napkins has been essential in providing me with much needed #procrastination from bigger projects! 😜

Personal preferences aside: it’s way #toowarm for November. So much, that I find it unsettling.

It’s not cold enough for #flora and #fauna to hibernate, yet not warm enough for #hedgehogs, #squirrels and the likes to find food.

What about Pokemon (typing etc) STILL trips you up?

My brain still wants to think Grass is weak to Rock and Bug is weak to Ice. I don't think they ever were.

@SirTapTap the whole ghost/psycho/dark/fairy type dynamic. For years, whenever I picked up a game, I have consistently been failing to correctly predict the outcomes. But I also hate to have that monster of a chart open, when I just want to chill out a little.

Deutsche Post will Standardbriefe langsamer zustellen

Kommt bald der Zwei-Klassen-Brief? Die Deutsche Post darf zwar das Porto nicht vorzeitig anheben. Dafür könnte der Standardbrief demnächst aber deutlich länger unterwegs sein als bislang. Wer es schneller möchte, muss dann draufzahlen.

@jens @tagesschau absolut richtig und das hätte tatsächlich weitere Konsequenzen für #Fristen. Gesetzlich wird der Postlauf derzeit nämlich mit maximal 3 Tagen berücksichtigt. Wenn bspw. eine #Behörde einen #Bescheid versendet, beginnt 3 Tage später die Uhr für die Fristen zu laufen. (Vereinfacht)
Wenn die #Post nun tendenziell länger bräuchte, müsste das #Gesetz geändert werden.

Honest question - is a "utility room" some sort of Midwestern thing?

Talking about how to avoid running ducts through attics, it occurred to me that it might be.

Here, if you don't have a basement, there's usually a room with your furnace/air handler, water heater, and washer/dryer. Plumbing often routes there, too.

Sometimes it's less of a room and more of a closet, but we can't just stick the washer and water heater in the garage 'cause they'll freeze.

@TechConnectify if it is any consolation: a furnace room is very much a thing in Germany. Depending on whether you have a largely dimensioned heating system or if it’s an apartment building, the furnace will be located in a separate room. Oftentimes in the basement. Older buildings usually had a room solely for storing coal that would later be converted to the furnace room as heating systems got modernised.
