@Malleus@pagan.plus

Alchemist, Lithomancer and devotee of goddess Hathor and the Eyes of Ra.

he/him cishet

In 2015 while in a trance state I made contact with a feminine spirit who in subsequent trances gave me the design of my Alchemical apparatus. I didn't know its purpose at the time but more trances followed and it was revealed that the apparatus was for divination and ritual communication.

My Grandad was also interested in Alchemy and I also study and re-create his work from 1930's notebooks.

Huh, the new Bears proposal for a stadium is... wildly different than I expected :otter_peek: I really like what the renders did with the old Soldier Field columns (and frankly, the UFO they landed inside of it was always a massively ugly waste of money). I feel mostly ambivalent on the proposal I think, provided taxpayers aren't on the hook for it.

If this proposal actually happens, civic leaders from the south side really should lobby hard for the CTA to revisit the Gold Line proposal to take part of the existing Metra electric right-of-way and turn it into a rapid transit corridor. If the city really wants to revitalize the lakefront and drive tourism, they should focus on increasing access between the lakefront parks (the stupid bean/Millennium Park, Grant Park, etc), the Museum Campus (the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Planetarium, Soldier Field), McCormick Place, and Jackson Park (the Museum of Science and Industry and the new Barack Obama Presidential Library). Plus the Gold Line could be used to bring a valuable link for south lake shore communities between the Loop all the way down to South Chicago. :vg_puro_shrug: Seems like a win/win to me.

Side note: Also, boost the Green Line back to Jackson Park like it used to be :neofox_what: It'd make for a great transfer point for people between the Gold Line and the Green Line.

Links below if you're curious what the hell I'm talking about:

@Rusty

Pretty ok drawings. Looks like run-of-the-mill stadium imo.

But you touched on a couple sore spots. All the plans I've heard of involve taxpayer support. Subsidies for the filthy rich that is. I'm sure thay can get financing like Trump did. Let them do it then.

Secondly,
Can any public money be spent on this when the CTA is so unreliable and disgusting that it's unusable. We're supposed to be a world class city. I can't even recommend our public transit when visitors come to town.

Thirdly,
We (The Bears) can barely win ONE game. We totally suck. And now we'll be rebuilding again for the foreseeable future. The blame goes all the way to the top.

Three strikes and you're out. Whoops. Wrong game.

Malleus,
@Malleus@pagan.plus avatar

@Rusty For sure the South Side should benefit under any proposed plan. Sorry for ranting- the whole subject really rankles me.

When I tell you all that I have been in love with the Egyptian Art Nouveau Tarot for almost a year now, I need you all to know this is not an exaggeration. This particular #tarot deck was included in a witchy subscription box almost a year ago, something I only learned when I watched an unboxing of this particular thing on YouTube, and I fell in love with the art immediately.

It never felt like quite the right time to own the deck, though, so I kept putting it off.

But then I realized if I kept waiting for the "right" time, I was likely never going to do it, and since I was still in love with the deck all these months later, I decided I could let myself have something new as a treat.

So I bought it.

I am beyond happy right now.

Two cards are shown. The card on the left depicts a woman wearing a reddish-brown kaftan about to step off the edge of a rocky cliff. Behind her is a pale sphinx cat wearing a little jade scarab on it's collar. The card borders are white, although dividing the white from the rest of the image is an elaborate, almost swirled border in yellow. The top and bottom of the border has a spot free where the number 0 is displayed. The card on the right displays the backs of the cards: two scarabs (mostly green, with it's wings in shades of green, blue, yellow, and orange) with wings splayed. Both are lifting a sun disc above their heads.

How does The Absolute, or the One, fit into the Alchemical schema? I woke up at 4 am asking myself this question. Here is the goddess' answer from my meditation:

Alchemy can be said to mean transformation. The Absolute, or in Kemetic terms, Kheper the new rising sun, is the opposite principle. It is the self-created and unchanging. But it is also more. It is a “push” towards transformation.
Where does this push come from? And how is it and the static aspect of Kheper symbolized in the alchemical process?

For a transformation to be conceived there must be an unchanging base for it to stand upon otherwise it can't be distinguished as a change. It would then be flux within flux and therefore invisible and unknowable.
The Absolute then is the necessary background condition of transformation. The symbol for this necessary condition in Alchemy is the retort or crucible.

The container is the Condition under which the transformation takes place. It is the unchanging venue where the dynamic action unfolds.
The retort is often stylized as a globe, skull or other “roundness” (like the Kheper beetle) to emphasize the static unchanging property.

As I mentioned, it is not just the enclosing necessary Condition that represents The Absolute, but Kheper's push, the impulse that precedes transformation.

The impulse is symbolized by a geometric line or angle. The dung beetle pushes his dung ball solar disc in a given direction. These lines of force combined are emblematic of abstract structure. The structure is, of course, the shape of the alchemical vessel.

So we have the shape and the containment properties of the vessel taken together as symbolizing Kheper or The Absolute.
To join the two aspects into one is the symbolic paradox of “squaring the circle”.

In my own practice the precisely angular crystal is incorporated into the cylindrical resonating chamber of my divining apparatus.

Praise #Hathor and the Eyes of Ra!

Have a great weekend!

    She is a large, primordial deity. Her consort is Khnum/Khnum-Ra. She has connections to the fields, plants, stars, and time. She is a combination of two goddesses, Menhit and Nebetuu. Just like Hethert and Sekhmet, these two are a angry and pacified combination.
