Our PV panels are 2.5 years old now and I still absolutely love to check the stats. The amount of electricity that the roof produces keeps blowing my mind. We produce enough electricity during the good months to provide for another house with a family of four. We are not even ideally positioned and don’t have a large array (6.7kW). It’s just pure magic (or maybe physics) 🪄

@bastianallgeier Ours (8.84kWp) has already produced over 30MWh since it got installed in May 2020.

Unfortunately we back then opted against getting a battery and thus the inverter also lacks the option to simply add a battery later...

But still we are very happy we made the commitment. Especially seeing what my neighbors are getting quoted nowadays. We paid ~13k€ for 26 modules, inverter, smartmeter and "optimizers" (the latter two were optional, but logging and graphs!!), all including tax.

@bastianallgeier A neighbor got his installed two weeks ago. It took him ages to find someone willing to install "such a small setup" and he got offers ranging from 30 to 45k€ (including tax reduction!). Because his handyman wasn't as pragmatic as ours and because the modules have grown in size (something about container efficiency in China) he now has less modules on his roof, albeit same available space and higher capacity per module. The whole package includes battery and wallbox, though.

@bastianallgeier @faulancr In hindsight we also should have installed one earlier. 2016-ish I made a first effort and even had many sales people here. But that was so disturbing that I quickly buried the idea. One told me that I should only get a few panels on the roof to cover my actual need (~8 for ~2kWp?!). Another one wanted to sell me the whole package (~32 for ~10kWp, including hanging them on the balcony and south-facing wall, plus 14kW battery). So offers ranged from 8 to 40k IIRC...

Trying to finalize the colo(u)r palette for my site’s redesign – yes, this is a serious project – but I keep adding more and more swatches. A yellow? I definitely need a yellow! A light blue? Why not! And how about a bright, oklch version and a slightly desaturated, “uncoated” version of the palette? Hell yeah! 😂

Had to skip exercise yesterday and then also today because of too much work™. And it sucks. ☹️

I you want to make exercising a habit, put it in your calendar (e.g. Wednesday and Saturday morning) and really stick to it. This has worked surprisingly well for us over the last few months.

We use Paddle to sell @getkirby and while they are great in general, they've replaced humans with an AI bot for support requests.

This is what our clients must go through if they contact Paddle instead of us. (real redacted protocol) We can only apologize. It's embarrassing to get those protocols. It also causes additional work for us to read through this.

We told Paddle about it without success so far. Please, don't do this. Don't throw a chat bot at customers if this is the result.
