A small waterfall on the side of Sumas Mountain in the #FraserValley of #BritishColumbia. I visited this spot because I saw a small trail leading off the side of the road near a creek and was a bit surprised to see 3 nice waterfalls in the area!
You know what? The elections went really well and I'm in a good mood today, so here's one of my favorite waterfall photos from Newfoundland. All the whale watching ships leaving Bay Bulls and heading to Witless Bay duck into the cove and put their bows by the waterfall so people can get photos. That's fun, but I prefer this angle.
For #WaterfallWednesday here's the lower tier of Multnomah Falls and the well-known viewing bridge, with the upper tier of the falls behind it.
At a height of 620 ft / 189 m total, it's the highest waterfall in Oregon. At the end of summer in September 2022, when I made this photo, the flow was much reduced compared to winter and spring of course, but still a beautiful sight.
It's #Wednesday, so that must mean it's #WaterfallWednesday! This autumnal delight is from the Rose River Loop in Shenandoah. It's the best spot in the park on a cloudy or foggy day!
Tenaja Falls is a seasonal waterfall of San Mateo Creek, in the San Mateo Canyon Wilderness of Southern California. I photographed it in March 2011 after a very wet winter.
Inside this building is the apparatus needed to control a natural siphon that is capable of directing the flow of water through aqueducts between reservoirs. The dam pictured gives the necessary height to initiate the siphoning action.
Here's a small waterfall of glacial meltwater along the Plain of Six Glaciers trail with Abbot Pass in the distance and glaciers below. The now-removed Abbot Pass Hut is a speck at the top of the pass. It was really tough to get the exposure on this right!
