The #UK government rejected calls from its own nature experts for a legally binding target to halt England’s catastrophic decline in wildlife, openDemocracy can reveal.
A reminder that there would have been no "cost of living" crisis if our government had acted decades ago to transition away from and decarbonise UK society.
The cost of not doing this increases every single second. Every delay adds more and more to the price.
The corruption and ineptitude of successive Labour and Tory governments is the reason so many of us are still reliant on gas.
These incompetents are costing us all £ trillions.
If #Labour lost the election on #ULEZ then there is definitely something to debate.
The subject of the debate is not whether to water down the pitch to voters. Although it is the hottest year on record UK weather has been pretty crap. Politicians need to understand and explain that we won't be OK in the future. We will be impacted by #ClimateChange on food, extreme weather, security, imports & everything else #UKPol
Most "will be concerned, appalled, or just plain disgusted, & understand that these ideas must be opposed"
"But when a movement backed by billionaires is gaining so much political, financial & institutional momentum without the awareness of most activists & everyday people, we’re basically sitting ducks"
"Should we help the poor today? ....No, we must not let our emotions get the best of us: ensuring the birth of trillions of digital people must be our priority"
OK, so verdict seems to be that Uxbridge stayed Conservative because the only thing they campaigned on was the ULEZ expansion which adds a cost burden at a time of cost of living crisis.
A cost of living crisis CAUSED by over a decade of CONSERVATIVE Government.
Initial turnout figures for two out of the three #byelections tonight - Uxbridge and South Ruislip 46% and Somerton Frome 44%. No figure yet for Selby and Ainsty. #ukpol
Can anyone up late or early that has the #ukpol#ukPolitics hashtag please post updates in the #byElections using that hashtag? I need to drive tomorrow so can't follow and don't use BBC or Google news for updates any longer
Much appreciated
