I am currently engrossed in reading the Expanse book series. In the universe of these books, humanity's advanced space-faring civilization still grapples with familiar issues like geopolitical tension, inequality, and exploitation.

Some years back, I decided I was going to learn to draw. I had never been able to draw, so I started with just copying existing images. I drew them the same way I do archaeological field drawings: using a grid and drawing where the thing I want to draw intersects with the grid. (cont.)
Anyway, all that to say that this week I practiced with these characters from #TheExpanse. I very much simplified the clothes, especially on Bobbie and Avasarala, but I'm pleased that most faces are in fact recognizable (I'm sad that my Elvi drawing doesn't much look like Elvi, whom I love)
