Had I known about that, I wouldn't have opened up this community.

If anyone wants to take over https://lemmy.ca/c/theexpanse please let me know until Saturday, June 24th midnight Pacifc time.

I will step down as the community owner/mod and happily hand over the reigns to you.

If nobody steps forward I'll delete this community.

I hope somebody picks up this community. Mastodon is super unwieldy as an information repository and discussion board.

the community leads on Reddit diversified. Aside from Discord as well as on their own new Mastodon instance https://theexpan.se, and **there’s a Reddit-style federated forum in the works that will be hosted and run by and for our community members. **

I'm with roofuskit. I'm new to Lemmy, but so far I haven't found a way to sub to Mastadon accounts. You can follow Lemmy Communities from Mastadon, but it's kind of clunky.

I think it's fine to have both.

That appears to be a Mastodon server, not Lemmy or Kbin. I don't see the need to delete this one.
