In 45 minutes I made a #kotlin#javalin application from scratch, which uses #webjars to include #htmx from a #maven pom file. It uses static #HTML files for the first load, and then renders HTML from #jte templates for #SSR of the parts of the pages that need that kind of interaction. There's no #springboot (or any #spring at all) and no #SPA like #angular or #react.
Now because simply setting up a project says close to nothing about its real world viability, next step is an actual usecase ( :

I think OSs should crack down on SPAs a bit. For example, a lot of SPAs are hijacking OS keybindings, like the print dialog. It should be up to the user whether to allow this, both globally, and per-URL. Sometimes it breaks the user's workflow, or creates hard-to-predict accessibility issues. Other times it makes OS or browser-level functionality unavailable when that page is displayed. Binding conflicts are avoidable in most cases, but they should at least have to ask.
Is it un-PC to see a woman's touch as one of caressing and care, of sensitivity and gentleness? I don't know, really don't care -- I remember my wife brushing her fingers across our children's faces as babies -- lightly, lovingly.

I have a web based personal note taking app that I use continuously. It's #SPA and it frequently fetches lots of JSON, and discards lots of data. I have 4 tabs open (they've been open for days and days without reload): 62, 80, 64, and 35mb.

@stephaniewalter Some useful criticisms of "dispersed content" on desktop screens. But these seem more like criticisms of "mobile only" designs, rather than "mobile first" designs?
I still think of "mobile first" as a technical choice governing how your CSS media queries are written and cascade.
I wonder if the trend they rightly criticize has more to do with the ongoing popularity of single page applications and the frameworks that support and encourage them.
I wanted so much to fill out the "State of #HTML Survey 2023" and the #javascript#SaaS#SPA they're using to host the survey app showed me a loading spinner for over an hour after signing in and that basically says it all, doesn't it?
