The tips section for Gynoug on Mega Drive from Mean Machines 6 - March 1991 (UK)

One of my favourite games on the system back in the day.
The art was something else!
This one can actually be bought on all modern systems, same as Gleylancer.

Happy 29th anniversary of the Sega Saturn's U.S. launch! Did you play one of the launch titles today?

As we remember the Saturn's history, we'll keep celebrating the exciting here and now as fans make new memories. It's time to change the narrative — Saturn is our future!

Make sure to check out my fellow SHIRO! member SaturnDave's great writeup reflecting on the Saturn on its 29th U.S. birthday, featuring the hype video he created earlier this week:

And finally, just for kicks, an article called: The Games Forum: Dreamcast vs PlayStation 2.
Taken from GamesMaster 80 - April 1999 (UK)

And yet, it does get just as bad as you'd imagine it would. The more things change... 😂

Review for Jewel Master on Mega Drive from Sega Force 2 - February 1992 (UK)

I had so much fun with this one back in the day.
One of those games that I found by looking at all the box art in the local Tandy shop.
Never hear much about this one at all.

With the magazines that I bought from Mort, came issue 194 of CVG, of which I was missing the Freeplay supplement, which has now been scanned and added to the magazine.

So the completed CVG 194 - January 1998 (UK) has just been added to the preliminary magazine catalogue, which means that the full run of Paul Davies CVG issues (168-211) is now available in its complete form.

thread of my posts, starting with my latest:
exploring the arcade in the 1978 movie 鬼畜 / Kichiku (The Demon)

each blog entry features an arcade in a movie (mostly from ) and tries to identify all of the machines.
This is an exceptionally difficult task because:

  1. I'm focused on movies from the 1930s-1970s
  2. Japanese arcade machines were not well documented until I got fed up and started my eremeka site

I have compiled all of my research on SEGA in the 1960s into a single post.

  1. Sega's corporate history summary
  2. the lineages of Sega's early games
  3. documenting the machines offered in the 1966 price list
  4. tracking Sega through trade publications articles
