When my #roadtrip to South Karelia began, the car beeped like crazy. It thought my luggage on the back seat was a person who didn't have a seat belt on! I had to stop and move the stuff from the back seat to the trunk. 😬🤭 #today#suomimastodon#finland
🚗 First winter road trip with our EV!
🏡 Port Moody ➡️ Golden, BC 🏔️🇨🇦
🛣️ 700 kms
🔋 Left home with 100%.
🅿️ Stopped to charge at Hope, Merritt, Kamloops, Salmon Arm, and Revelstoke.
🪫 Arrived at Golden with 32% charge.
⌛ 12 hrs on the road!
🤔 Definitely took longer than I like. Maybe we could have skipped charging at Merritt and Salmon Arm. We decided to charge often because it's our first time and unsure about it all.

What’s your favourite #roadtrip song? I’d love some help making a #playlist to listen to while I work on my next #tarot card, the Ace of Wands. Since this card is about #adventure, #travel, excitement, & optimism, I’d love to hear your #song selections that celebrate journeying so I can make a playlist that will inspire me! Drop your song in the comments & share this post with those who might like to add a song as well. Thanks! #mixtape#journey#art#inspiration#music
Yesterday after work I drove to East #finland with a rental car. (That was the first time I drove this year.) There was a car accident on the road, and a traffic jam. We got heavy rain.. I got lost once. Once the navigator said the road was blocked but it wasn't. But I did it and #today I saw my #parents. 😍 #AlzheimersSucks I haven't told you but my mother has #dementia now as well. #suomimastodon#roadtrip
Vacations have started, tomorrow departure for the UK by motorbike. Yay. 🤩
Method of crossing: ferry (not a big fan, so a little nervous, but excited to go there again). Love the hills, curvy roads, countryside, history, food, culture, etc. #UK#Holiday#Ducati#Roadtrip#Camping#Motorbike#Multistrada
I'm a sucker for old bridges, so here are a couple over the Brazos River in Texas that I spotted from the highway and visited during my drive on Thursday.
Slowly ☕️ starting the weekend after an intense week, and my iPad is featuring a memory from Iceland in October 2019 (it gave the photo, I share the video).
I love the happy surprises while driving in Iceland. 😊
I am a bit scared of horses, but they are sooo impressive. 🤎🐴
With just a couple of days left of our road trip, we've hit the east of Tasmania and are stopping in Bicheno before heading north tomorrow towards the Bay of Fires. Bicheno is just good for walking with a great coastline full of interesting rocks and beaches. We particularly like the Blowhole, though it wasn't spouting water as much as the last time we were here. So here's a sunset as there were some great clouds today
We had another wonderful holiday day today. Before sharing about it, I will first give you some context.
This short holiday was very badly planned. One day in December I decided that we would go away for a few days over the Christmas-New Year break. Everyone in Australia and Nee Zealand would gasp at the audacity of the idea. That is waaaaay too late to book anything!
But I turned my tardiness into a virtue and explained to my husband that we were going to have a very cheap holiday using old-stylencountry motels. Think of the motel in Schitts Creek and you have the picture.
My husband liked the idea of not spending much money on out holiday and I booked the accommodation on the 22nd December. Booking this late means only a few rooms at cheap hotels are available - anything more fancy has been booked months ago.
We’ve just arrived in our hotel for the night in Lochmaddy, North Uist. It’s a strange sort of village, there are amenities (a visitor’s centre, a community shop, a children’s play area, a petrol station and, strangely, the Sheriff’s court) but no centre. It’s a good job we’re booked in to eat at the hotel tonight as there’s nowhere else to go! #OuterHebrides#ScottishIslands#Scotland#RoadTrip
My featured photos on the iPad had a refresh, so tadaaaahhhhh 🥳
This was my first time on the Faroe Islands (2023). A travel company said that 8 days is enough. 🙄 I’ve been there 12 and still want to go back. So beautiful 🤩
Today we continued our #RoadTrip in the #Mallee region of north-west Victoria. This is a hot, dry, sandy area. Mallee is an Aboriginal word for water and the common eucalyptus trees that are native to this area are called Mallee gums. They hold water in large bulbous tubers underground - see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mallee_(habit)
The Mallee region is largely defined as the region where these type of eucalyptus trees grow in Victoria, #Australia
Camp #3: On the far east side of the San Rafael Swell north of Cisco Utah. Saw some great pictographs today! (Stay tune. Will post a little later.) Tomorrow, it's blow through the zoo of Moab and head to the San Juan River. (Phone photo.)
View southeast from tonight's camp spot, Muley Point, overlooking the Goosenecks of the San Juan River. Monument valley in the distance. I tend to wake up before dawn, so I'm looking forward to the sunrise across this wild landscape. I was hoping to get here for the sunset, but missed it by about 15 minutes.
(4/4) Abel Tasman NP, Torrent Bay/ Rākauroa to Onetahuti. A stunning introduction to Onetahuti beach (📷1). Off the beach’s south end, Tonga Island contributes to the Tonga Roadstead/ sheltered anchorage (📷3). Views north (📷3) before our taxi pick-up (📷4). A 46km journey over 6h 20m, of which 14km/ 4.5h hiking—but felt under time pressure, meeting taxi with only 3min left!
Almost ready for my #Aussie#Roadtrip
Here you see my trailer. Its tiny, and designed to be towed by a motor bike. So my hatch doesnt even feel it there when i tow it.
On the front (not shown) is a box with the spare wheel, Jerry can of water, Two gas bottles, a cooking stove and assorted tools to setup camp.
On top is a 100W solar panel.
Inside we have 2 deep cycle batteries and inverter. Cooking supplies in the black tub. My tent, bedding and bed are in front of that.
All of it locks up :D
We've been in London, doing a few London things. The other day, we went to Kew Gardens. We visited the Temperate (as in climate) House and Kew Palace, but spent most of the day walking around admiring their trees.
