One of the three a-bit-pompous-good mid-period Pink Floyd albums (Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, and this) that are, I think, their creative peak (with WYWH being the best).
Still has Waters' self-pitying, high-school senior concepts, but they hadn't yet gotten ridiculous (hi, the Wall)…and the band is playing great, and collaboratively.
Has some of Gilmour's best work, too…
(My original copy from long, long ago, still perfect.)
I have another one for #TuneTuesday and #SameTitleDifferentSong. This one often comes to mind for me, too. The third one is missing the 'ing' but I'm still counting it, especially since Dave played for Tom and they were friends. I love the SHIT outta all THREE of these songs.
Roger Waters reimagines Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of the Moon.” He’s releasing a completely new version of the record, calling it, plainly, “The Dark Side of the Moon Redux.”
I’m sure many fans will be putting up a fight. But I, for one, am super excited to hear it. I suspect it will be a wild ride.
#China's internet #censors have deleted a video in which #children at a private #PerformingArts school in the southwestern province of #Sichuan dance to British rock band #PinkFloyd's 1979 hit "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2" which featured a choir of #schoolchildren protesting overbearing authority & "thought control" in #education.
Requested a ride sharing service and I didn't have the energy to ask the driver to turn off his hostis humani generis reggaeton, just grabbed my IEMs and avoided the hassle.
Returned on a Taxi because of that, the driver saw my #PinkFloyd T-shirt and we started talking about how young people are proud of having shit taste.
The older I get the more 70s t-shirts I must wear to get good conversation starters. I'll try #Sepultura next time. I'm overstock on DSOTM t-shirts for some reason.
Something tells me that there is someone out there who absolutely needs to hear Pink Floyd's "Brain Damage" performed as bluegrass right this very minute. Well, you've come to the right place! 🙃
I have restored the “Pulse” blinking light to working order! The batteries had corroded inside, blocking the electrical contacts, thus requiring a thorough cleaning job. Fortunately Martha Stewart’s website has instructions. And since Martha Stewart was involved, of course I had to use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the task.
Listening to Roger Waters "The Dark Side of the Moon Redux".
The added narratives remind me a lot of The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking. It'll take a few listens to let the new lyrics sink into my brain with meaning.
It's interesting, but will never replace the original album, which for me is one of my favourites of all time.
