Happy second birthday to my favourite record store! Nipped into Thorne Records after work for drinks, natter with Mark & Jake, and managed to restrain myself to only buying two slices of #vinyl
My evening BART train is emptier, maybe 25 people in the car.
Someone (a young man, maybe 20?) slouches back in his seat, wearing a bright green jacket and a polka dotted hood covering much of his face. He stares into the middle distance, phone-free.
A standing woman in a long black jacket has a surprisingly animated conversation with someone on the phone.
A man in slacks and Adidas sits near his electric bike, scrolling comfortably.
I never appreciated until I had it how nice it is to live on an activated street. My husband is out of town and the house felt a bit quiet, so I ate lunch on the front porch and enjoyed some lite #PeopleWatching and the neighborhood vibes.
It feels good to be in proximity to a community. If loneliness is an epidemic in this country, how much could be addressed by simple #WalkableStreets?
