Cybersecurity researchers have figured out a way to exploit what seems to be a bug in Apple’s password reset feature in a new scam that can lock you out of your iPhone if you’re not careful.
@mrcompletely So funny! Was looking to tune in last night with the NFL done. And I see a green court with bigs launching 3’s for the camera. #pass#betterlucknextweek
I just discovered #SimpleLogin a product of @protonmail
It's a powerfull and amazing tool to protect your email addresses.
Easy to manage from Pass or from dashboard on simplelogin.io #Privacy#Proton#Pass
But it puts into #law that the #USA will cut off #funding for #UNRWA, despite #VanHollen's efforts. Imo it increases funding and legal protection for #Israel, and continues the administration's illegal (treaty law) support.
I decided to switch from #pass back to #KeePassXC. I just feel it’s more secure, because things can’t read passwords from it without me being prompted. And the metadata is encrypted.
The #Senate is set to #vote on a bill to avoid a #GovernmentShutdown by 6:30 PM. Starting at 4:20 PM, the upper chamber will have, at most, two hours of debate, then vote to #pass the bill with a 60-vote threshold.
Does anyone have an email/account management setup they're particularly happy with?
Context: I've been doing some digital account deletion. I use the the pass password manager, and have done for years. I've recently been going through and deleting my accounts that I don't want to keep live (I'm currently down to 157 from a starting point of 212 (n.b. this includes passwords for personal tech systems and devices as well: raspi, routers, etc)). I've also recently setup a new personal email inbox that I want to maintain long-term for correspondence as a primary email address. I had been on protonmail which lakc of IMAP/SMTP support on the free version, and other limitations, made me want to mlve away from that. This has got me thinking about email accounts and/or email aliases associated with online accounts and how best to manage these.
I know many people have a process of using multiple aliases for online accounts, e.g. username+FINANCE@domain.com for all finance-related accounts, banking, etc. While other people often use a 'throwaway' email address as their login username email address (this can be an advantage in case of leaks of services in future that would expose email addresses; a'l throwaway login address as separate from main correspondance address would mean you could easily change-up if you needed to).
I've tried searching for good articles on the #indienet and elsewhere about these aspects of #passwordmanager and identity management solutions, but not found anything more compelling than often quite extensive processes (multiple aliases, etc). Anyone out there keen to share any good setups they've found for email/account management configuration? #email#pass
The funny things about really good software projects, that sometimes they are so good and complete already that there is no fuss around them, they just work and do the job done.
Mailing lists are quite, new commits are rare. Sometimes it can even feels that they are unmaintained or dead, but in fact they are more than alive.
@abcdw Indeed. Though I think about adding :gitannex: #gitAnnex support to #pass. Putting the gpg-encrypted password files into git directly is not so great. I guess the script could be made to auto-detect if the repo has an annex and then use git annex add instead of git add when appropriate.
It’s not that #pass#Passwordtore is complete; rather, it is very challenging to improve it due to ineffective communication channels. (it is not available on GitHub). also no formal standard that would standardize the different implementations of Pass, (GoPass,..)
The lack of a clear anchor on how to modify derivative projects can make the process even more difficult.
==>hypothetically Moving pass to github will yield countless PRs and requests for changes and improvements.

«Es artet aus» – so daneben führen sich #Reisende auf dem #Pass auf
I cannot thank @benjaminhollon enough for reigniting my love of the terminal. And poetry. But as far as the terminal goes, he introduced me to #aerc, #gpg, #pass, #restic via BorgBase, #qutebrowser. Did I leave anything out? Oh, #asahilinux and #framework PCs, which are environmentally friendly.
