Spotted a Fisher cat on the side of Little River Road in Dartmouth late this afternoon. It was favoring one of its front feet (the one it has weight on in this photo), but didn't look obviously injured otherwise. I waited for it to move off the road before proceeding.
This guy (gal?) was just parked off Gooseberry in the sun, head above water, looking around for the entire time I had him in view as I hiked, a solid 15 minutes.
Of all the days for me to not be carrying the good camera, this greets me on the way back from my hike. Did what I could with the phone, but the light was already pretty far gone.
Cooper's Hawk at Mass Audubon Allens Pond, right near the parking area. Spooked right as I started to move the camera. I moved behind the small amount of cover that was there, and saw the bird move in a bit closer, but it still wouldn't return to the kill while I was there. Got a shot by using my car as a blind.
A pair of Great Egrets fishing near the Little River bridge in Dartmouth, MA yesterday evening. There were a ton of egrets in this area—I counted 45 of them, mostly Great Egrets although there were three of four Snowy Egrets mixed in, and a few Great Blue Herons looking for a meal as well.
