Unconfirmed report (citizen posted over at Edhat) from Santa Barbara of "open vehicle – brown camo- slowly drove toward Goleta on State St. There was a large American flag on the back b...white male posed with one knee up gripping what looked exactly like a large assault rifle" 😬 https://www.edhat.com/news/men-brandishing-firearms-in-open-vehicle/#guns#hate#intimidation
"Since the start of the pandemic, fewer people are walking to get around. The 100 most populated metro areas in the U.S. saw a decline in #walking of at least 20% between 2019 and 2022, according to a recent report. But even with this decline, #pedestrian deaths have skyrocketed to the highest they’ve been in over 40 years."
"Free speech for me, death threats for the clerk and the judge and the attorney general. That is the legal position Donald Trump has taken in his filing seeking to have the stay against the gag order continued. Meanwhile, while Judge Engoron and his clerk are undergoing a tsunami of harassment and threats that took 250 single-spaced pages to list,"
"We cannot say it loudly enough or frequently enough: Trump continues to be a danger to us. Anyone who doesn’t understand that they or someone they love, their children or grandchildren, could be the next one subjected to the treatment Judge Engoron’s law clerk is receiving, or that Fulton County election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss were subjected to, isn’t paying attention."
"Donald Trump’s talk of punishing his critics and seeking to 'weaponize' the US justice department against his political opponents has experts and former DoJ officials warning he poses a direct threat to the rule of law and democracy in the US."
It does not accurately describe either the foundation of #Israel or the tragedy of the #Palestinians.

“…Whatever the enormous complexities…, one truth should be obvious among decent people: killing 1,400 people & kidnapping >200, including scores of #civilians, was deeply wrong.
“146 #Palestinians in the #WestBank & #EastJerusalem were killed in 2022 & ≥153 in 2023 before the #Hamas attack, & >90 since. Again: This is appalling & unacceptable….
“Although there is a strong instinct to make this a #Holocaust-mirroring ‘#genocide,’ it is not: The Palestinians suffer many things, incl’g military #occupation; settler #intimidation & #violence; #corrupt Palestinian #political leadership; callous neglect by their brethren in >20 Arab states; the rejection by Yasser Arafat…,
"Trump's motion for a stay of his gag doesn't just defend his own right to make violent threats about trial witnesses; he also defends the right of his mob to amplify such threats."
"While some #GOP lawmakers on the verge of retirement have in the past occasionally decried the scourge of #threats in the #Trump era, we’re seeing it suddenly from a whole bunch of lawmakers who still have political skin in the game.
...It has occasioned a long-overdue conversation about their role.
“My review of past statements made by Mr. #Trump in particular, as well as the #evidence that they have led to #harassment & #threats for the people he has targeted, persuades me that w/o this restriction there is a real risk #witnesses may be intimidated or unduly #influenced & that other potential witnesses may be reluctant to come forward lest they be subjected the same harassment & #intimidation.
So... a Hell's Angels motorcyclist just rode up close behind me and passed me with a car oncoming within 50m of a roundabout.
I drove to my destination and now wonder if this type of offense is worth reporting 🤔
"The MAGA Republican party is less like the party that nominated Romney than it is like the party that nominated Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. And it’s a mistake, in my judgment, to minimize the role that fear now plays in assisting and enabling Trump’s continued dominance."
Jennifer Rubin notes that Fani Willis' indictment puts the intimidation — a form of violence — conspirators used against Ruby Freeman, a Black woman, front and center. The indictment states:
"Members of the enterprise traveled from out of state to harass Freeman, intimidate her, and solicit her to falsely confess to election crimes that she did not commit."
>"In the statement of claim it was explained that TERF "transports an absolute image of the enemy apart from any factual or polemically conducted discourse and primarily serves the purpose of disparagement and - concretely physical - intimidation". Women are to be excluded thereby "as" representatives of an illegitimate attitude from the outset as personally disqualified from the democratic opinion fight."
>"The plaintiff representative, attorney André Nourbakhsch of the Kanzlei RKA attorneys, proved that on the basis numerous examples. Maike Pfuderer did not come to the hearing. Since no lawyer appeared for her, a default judgment was issued. In this case, the plaintiff's factual submissions were deemed to have been admitted."
>"The facts, i.e. the designation as "TERF" , were not in dispute here anyway. The court carried out a conclusiveness test, i.e. it examined whether the term, as it was used, represented a violation of the right of personality. It answered in the affirmative and therefore ruled according to the complaint: Maike Pfuderer was forbidden to call Inge Bell "TERF"."
>"Perhaps the now legally binding judgment will make some trans activists reconsider their behavior - and hopefully not only because they fear legal consequences. A dispute that is characterized by disparagement of women hardens the fronts instead of enabling solutions."
LMFAO 🤣 I'm sorry, but what a bunch of pussies! These #PatriotFront D-bags are so proud of their virulent #racism and #intimidation tactics until they're exposed. Then, they're a bunch of crybabies, screaming, "That's not fair!" like the #nihilists from The Big Lebowski. Everyone, sing a song of sadness for these pieces of shit!
To be clear, #Trump doesn’t want to be tried in a Black city by a Black jury and a Black judge for a crime allegedly committed in that Black city to try and deprive Black residents of other Black cities (Atlanta, Detroit, Philadelphia) from having their votes counted. That’s it.
Trump: "It was also very sad driving through DC and seeing the filth and the decay and all of the broken buildings ... this is not the place that I left." (WTF is he talking about?)
@GottaLaff@tdwllms1
One of the questions that I raised during arraignment was, "Who decides what is a violation of the conditions?" is it the Judge?
Are his posts on social media, speeches at a rallies or interviews going to be evaluated by the judge?
Whose job is it to bring these to the attention of the Judge for a ruling? #Trump#WitnessTampering#Jury#Intimidation
France's top intelligence official, Nicolas Lerner, warned on Sunday of the "very worrying resurgence of violent actions and intimidation by the ultra-right, some of which are a clear break with the democratic framework", since the spring.
Recent incidents involving harassment of mayors indicate that hardcore groups are becoming emboldened.
