“To use for await item in streamOfItems {...}, you need an AsyncStream. It is very common that you already have an existing Combine publisher, and you want to use the nice Swift Concurrency syntax.”
Apple AirDrop has gotten much less reliable in the last year. It used to always work like magic. Now, it seems to fail half of the time on transfers between me and friends and between my own devices.
Also, the bump mega vibration screen ripple thing sends a contact card instead of the thing someone is trying to share often enough to never use it.
The only fix is both sides doing an airplane mode toggle. Annoying. Not magic.
I wish I understood why #swift and #iOS development has such a strong pull on me. I'm many months removed from the last time I worked on stuff, but I think about diving back in to learning Swift at least once a day.
#ios#shortcuts remain both very useful and infuriating to troubleshoot. Like when they work, it feels like AppleScript but when they don’t you sort of feel like a crazy person just staring at the screen.
Load sRGB image with alpha (see bottom “shadow” image with rounded-corners in SwiftUI preview)
Use CoreImage to composite over white
Get smaller, more “pointy” version
Cause: auto-conversion from sRGB to linear sRGB inside CoreImage is not happening, but the nodes are in the tree. Changing CIContext workingColorSpace to NSNull or non-linear sRGB “fixes” it — but can’t be used for correct compositing results. 🤯? #ios#swift#coreimage
There was a while when all the #MachineLearning and #NeuralEngine magic made me hopeful that #iOS spell check was improving. But lately it’s utter crap. If you can’t do that or Siri properly then what is all that neutral goodness for…?
Went back to listening to music in the #iOS#Music app after a few months, and now my playlists are all gone (actually the songs; the playlists are empty). This sucks! Is there something I could do to get the song lists back?
Are you following the #giroditalia or even want to attend a stage? I've built an #ios app that lets you see all the stages on the map and find a good spot along the route.
In addition to the route, you can also see the elevation profile and the mountain classifications. So it's also worth using next to the TV. If you fancy trying it out, here is the #testflight link:
@itsfoss#Onionshare is GREAT! Not fast, but secure and protects privacy very good! Also supports ANY important platforms like #LINUX#ANDROID#IOS#MAC CR#APPLE :underheart:
Version 1.1 of #Pipilo on #iOS is out. Pipilo is a unique fediverse app where you view posts one at a time in a horizontal timeline.
New in this update is support for notifications. Following the core idea of the app they are displayed in horizontal groups organized by days.
Premium users can also enable push notifications with quick reply action.
Heads-up, #iOS/ #macOS devs: if you get failed builds due to a "Command CompileAssetCatalog failed with a nonzero exit code” error in #Xcode 15.3, it's probably one of the SVGs in your asset catalog. The SVG likely uses <feGaussianBlur/>, making Xcode throw a tantrum

Apple's attempt to prevent fingerprinting through the required reason API seems to be useless. Facebook just updated their iOS app. The app still sends the uptime and disk space information off-device. It declares reasons that prevent the app from sending such data as per Apple documentation:
