Castro, my formerly favourite #accessible#Podcast app for #iOS which broke with iOS 16 and took a while to get fixed, then introduced some fixes that broke #accessibility, is slowly coming right again. There’s one outstanding issue for me, which is that when in the Inbox, #VoiceOver no longer speaks the name of the podcast from which the episode has come. This is schedule to be fixed in the next version.
Hopefully I’ll then be able to move away again from #Overcast which is a poor substitute if Castro is behaving itself. Apart from the better feature set, I’m really encumbered by the fact that when I’m playing something in Overcast, my #iPhone, a 14 Pro Max, slows to a crawl and VoiceOver gets incredibly sluggish.
I may have found an #iOS app that works with #Calckey. Called Kimis. I’m still testing it, but it let me login and it shows me my timeline and notifications. I’m posting this from it, too.
Cleaning out the old feedback in Feedback Assistant app. Some of the feedback were still open from iOS 9 LOL. This one though, I would like to say I gave them the idea for… even though that’s probably not what happened haha.
For one iOS beta, 16.5 beta 3 to be exact, we were getting closer to having more features of Eloquence supported by Apple devices. Shorten pauses, and toggles for phrase prediction and abbreviation expansion come to mind as features that are not there yet. Shorten pauses was... For beta 3. Phrase prediction doesn't work anyway, at least not for Finnish which is my native language. But abbreviations do... Unfortunately. Maybe I should be grateful for having Eloquence in the first place but I still think that being able to toggle abbreviation expansion, shortened pauses and phrase prediction would make it close to perfection. I'd much rather have Eloquence say "to" when encountering the word 'to' in a text read with the Finnish voice instead of "torstai" which has nothing to do with the word to, that means Thursday in Finnish, after all. Ah well, let the time pass and just maybe we'll see more improvement. #Apple#Accessibility#Beta#Eloquence#iOS#VoiceOver
@MonaApp just released and I purchased the Mona Pro Max version for 2200 yen which gives a lifetime multi-platform license - a bargain at twice the price. I’ve been using the beta for a few days now and really like it so far! Highly recommended.
What’s the difference between two dates in hours and minutes? When does a 90-day warranty that starts today expire? When is the next Friday the 13th? Swift can answer these in just a few lines of code — find out how!
I think i want to start making small simple utility apps for iOS and android as a side hustle. Maybe $1.99 annually for premium features? $1.99 to buy the app outright? Idk - does anyone know of a blog or YouTube channel with a similar journey for simple (yet polished) apps? Most data I’m seeing is for games.
Since it’s a side hustle I’ll probably be using Ionic and React since it’s adjacent to my daily tech stack.
0.22 of #Pipilo for Mastodon and Fediverse on #iOS is out with autocompletion suggestions and hashtag timelines.
Type in # or @ characters and suggestions will start appearing as you type. Tap on hashtags in posts to open separate screen with posts that included this hashtag. From there you can also follow/unfollow hashtags.
I just saw that you can customize Mona push notifications to the degree that certain notifications can be time sensitive on #iOS. This app gets better and better the more you try to customize it.
Time to go spend some more money for the @MonaApp app!
This app is really another outstanding #Mastodon app for #iOS, #iPadOS , and #MacOS. It’s one that you should definitely check out and have in your arsenal.
DID YOU KNOW… that if you use #Mastodon on the web, you can follow a hashtag and get the updates in your home feed?
Simply click on or search for a #hashtag and then tap the little icon in the top right of that column (the person with a plus) to start following that topic.
