Well, apart from it seems, there is nothing stable out there for in terms of simple window managers.

So, it's easy to say "X11 must die" when you are using KDE or GNOME or i3, because you don't have to adapt to a new environment.

But if you are a long-term user of other window managers the switch isn't so easy.

What are users of and many others are supposed to do?

One day Wayland would be stable enough to replace X11, but that day is not today.

tyil,

@jacekpoz @hfaust I have checked out . It's got a lot of animations that I don't want, if I want to look at pretty graphics I'll put on a video. It also didn't do well with a 3 or 4 monitor setup, and can't be configured to handle tags as a single monitor-independent tagset (similar to or ).

tyil,

@fbievan @hfaust @jacekpoz I'm fairly certain worked differently than or last I tried, even with various patches that people suggested would make it work the way I want. I want a single tagset, with 1 tag (or workspace) visible on a monitor at all times. Each tag can be set to any given monitor. If I go to a tag that's currently displayed on a different monitor, the tags on these monitors should switch.

zoltan,

@thelinuxcast @peppe I've been watching a lot of Jake@Linux's videos recently and and look pretty neato.
