A used solar oven turned up on a mailing list today. I was warned it was heavy, but not that it was this big. I usually ride with my backpack on the back of my seat inside the cargo box. Had to put it on top.
Photo taken after I'd taken the battery and seat off the cargo quad.
What to use to support running boards on an #Xtracycle Free Radical #cargobike ? The holes are 22.6mm diameter. A 7/8" dowel would fit, but I don't know if that's strong enough for the #carryshitolympics
My first documented entry in the #carryshitolympics! I went to buy a bunch of #plants for the balcony using my #cargobike which is normally just used to carry children.
Some #CargoBike shenanigans today. This Babboe bike is really nice! Handles really well for a "big box trike" type bike without an electric motor, and I love that it has a box with a lock on it – with so many other cargo bikes you can't secure your stuff at all when you leave it on the bike. I just wish the box was painted white. With the brown colour, it gets really hot inside when it's sunny. #CarryShitOlympics
I don't have a lot of thoughts about the #ABElxn yet, I'm not ready to think that much about it.
Instead, I'm both excited and anxious for my first #BikePacking trip! Heading out from #yeg to #ElkIsland NP first thing in the morning, staying two nights at Oster Lake.
Will post a photo of my rig once I've got it all packed!
Here it is, my #BikePacking rig. Almost a #CarryShitOlympics contender. Would be a lot lighter without the #Packraft and related gear, but I'm determined to go boating on Astotin Lake tomorrow!
The downtown #Toronto Ikea people did not even bat an eye when I walked out of there wearing my bike helmet with two furniture packages and a big box. All they said was "do you want us to take it out of the box for you?" 😅
I've modified my sailboat trailer to connect our tag-along/tow-behind kids trailer.
It connects much more easily than the old hitch and isn't damaging my rear rack anymore. It's honestly amazing that we happened to have a bike trailer that we weren't using anymore that fit almost perfectly into the trailer frame.
This is rad. I’ve never carried this much, although yesterday I used a Bullitt + Carla Cargo to carry two other bikes off for donation. Stops traffic almost as well as a bollard! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1p-uB1RNWY
