We’ve put roughly 4,800 kms on two e-bikes in just over a year. ~2,800 on the Yuba (no riding Dec-March) since end of April last year and 2,000 kms on our Load4 75 Reise & Muller since the end of August, 2023. We’ve had lots of bus trips and I’m averaging only 9 kms of walking a day. Living without a car can be very fucking frustrating and limiting in a city like #ottawa but I wouldn’t trade it for anything #cargobike#biketooter
Hey #ottbike or folks around #ottawa that are interested in the idea of a #cargobike but have never seen one up close or ridden one. I’m not an organizer but found this on instagram and will probably try and make it out for the show and tell with our two e-cargo bikes. More people need to see them everyday in all the places, in all the situations, for all the reasons people need to move around and live. Please share and come out! #biketooter
lol. Shelter wouldn't let us take home fosters (in a hard shell carrier) in the #CargoBike because "it's too dangerous". I even deflated the tires a bit for this, for a smoother ride.
[for background, every cat I've ever dealt with has been terrified in a car. They hate the speed, and the loud engine/vibrations. It's one of the reasons I started transporting my former cats by bike.]
Wieder ein Bleiakku 🔋 weniger!
Er hat unser Mobiltelefon und unseren Laptop schon mit #Balkonsolar ☀️ aufgeladen, als das Wort noch gar nicht erfunden war.
I'm looking into cargo bikes for urban areas so I can reduce my footprint.
Any suggestions?
Priority is ability to transport a few groceries, ease of lockup, and lack of ridiculous cost. I don't need electric or anything, but I do need it to be there when I get out of the store...
Was out shopping for my mom today, and decided to get her some soil for her garden.
I hadn't planned it, so I didn't bring straps = the bag had to lay loose on the rack, so I didn't dare get more than one.
But this is literally a #bike I just found in a ditch somewhere, and had I planned ahead I'm sure it would've handled at least 3 bags just fine. Combined with city planning that doesn't create miles of distance between everything, so multiple trips is ok, and I'm fine without a #wankpanzer
Rode the Cetma across town a couple of times this morning with the trailer, a bike, and a bunch of random stuff. Not fun on the hills without the motor! #CargoBike#Cetma#ebike#BikeTooter
Figured out another use for the #yuba#cargobike where I strap a garbage can to the side and have the 12yo bike slowly along while I use a garbage grabber to pick up trash. #BikeTooter
Wife asked why I’m doing this now and not the arranged day to #CleanUpTheCapital#Ottawa but… I’m angry about the trash now
Wow! I didn't realize, here in the States at least, that the #Surly Big Easy and the #Bakfiets electric #CargoBike are both the same price, around $5,500.
That makes it exceedingly difficult to choose between the two and I could easily see myself using either one in different situations.
Hmmmm...
Does anyone have any advice or experience with either #Ebike to persuade me in direction or another?
