It's been a steep learning curve but it's cool that most of the stuff just works (TP-Link #Kasa and #Tapo, #Ikea Zigbee, #Philips#Hue (using the Hue Bridge, not directly connected to my Zigbee coordinator). Some stuff this uses the cloud (but can be used locally), other stuff takes out the cloud entirely. (1/2)
Thanks to @Viss found a cool new Bluetooth snooping tool. Went hiking today, and boy, how much stuff you can see in town just from a standard Android phone. Urbanism Copenhagen in ear wireless earbuds... #Bluetooth
We need #openhardware with #bluetooth so we can link them it to #MyGNUHealth.
Currently we have @pine64eu smartwatch, but we'd love to integrate scales, glucometers, blood pressure monitors...
Just reply to this toot or send us a message if you know of any device. We'd love to test them!🤗 #GNU#GNUHealth#pinephone#PineTime
The new RedragonShop Eisa K686 Pro SE keyboard just arrived at my front door a few minutes ago.
This was sent to me as a review unit, so I'll be using it, checking it out and testing it over the next couple of weeks and then posting my review on the #AllThingsTech blog that you can view here:
#Bluetooth.
I don't know about you, but when a TV show or movie makes a joke out of some device accidentally connecting to a #Bluetooth speaker, the lack of realism takes me right out of the moment. It's hard enough to connect to some of them on purpose.
In case NOBODY NOTICED, I absolutely hate anything #bluetooth, on principle as an erstwhile infosec professional, and speakers in particular as someone who can discern more than three notes and two beats.
The tiny 400mAh #LithiumPolymer#battery in this cheap #Bluetooth#speaker turned into a puffed up pillow. I've replaced it with a 350mAh one I salvaged from a single-use disposable #vape device. In spite of the lower capacity, it is significantly larger than the original battery. Hope it can still fit in the available space.
Also fitted a JST connector to the speaker wires in case I need to disassemble again for a future #repair.
Do I need niche low latency earbuds now that Bluetooth LE Audio is an option?
I've been looking at some low latency earbuds for late night gaming. This has led me to the problem of latency. I've been looking at the Razer Hammerhead Pro Hyperspeed, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C3G2PMC8, earbuds because they have a 2.4Ghz transmitter that bypasses Bluetooth.
Question for the #hardware geeks.
Every night i take my mac to the living room, bring it back, and plug it in to power with the lid closed. Each morning I plug it into the monitor and open the lid.
Why is it that all of my #bluetooth devices (mouse & airpods) seem to be reconnected just fine, but my #Glove80 split keyboard, & the #Kinesis split keyboard refuse to. I have to restart bluetooth on the computer for them to be connected.
I paired it with my android and works great with an app, but I don't know the full bt mac-addr.
BT scanning from my PC doesn't show it, but shows other devices in pair mode.
How to force meshtastic to go into pairing mode? OR how to lookup device's BT address? OR are multiple clients paired to same meshtastic device supported?
I know I can re-flash, which which should reset settings and allow me to pair again.
My 1st Gen AirPods finally died, the Podswap is no more, and AFAICT every Bluetooth alternative is equally designed to be disposable. Even neckbands have non-replaceable batteries.
The Sony WF-1000XM3 was repairable, but it's been discontinued and I prefer half-in-ear style earphones for situation awareness.
If anyone knows a better choice than AirPods, I'm all ears. 🙏
