"When it comes to cancer you don't know what you are talking about.
Having lost a child & other family members to cancer I think I can speak on behalf of many parents & loved ones. Saying that #cancer is "completely within your control" before stage four is insensitive, hurtful and outright untrue."
"Until last week western #Canada had been enduring a cold spring but the rapid onset of #unseasonably high temperatures, in places 10-15C above the average for early May, is causing #fires and #flooding."
Wonder what it takes for #Alberta and Albertans to connect the dots.
" #Postmedia [is] a media conglomerate that owns virtually all the newspapers of any size in Canada except the longstanding national newspaper, the Globe & Mail. And Postmedia is a very conservative, very corporate friendly, very oil and gas friendly corporation."
Sigh. I know we need Emergency Alerts during wildfire season. I know the current fires are serious for those who live near them. But. I do worry that all these alarms sent to people who do NOT live near the fires are going to make us sufficiently numb that we won’t pay attention when an alarm actually matters to where we live. (Also - they are so so loud. What a wake up call.) #Alberta#Edmonton#yeg#wildfire#EmergencyAlerts
We’ve got a wildfire not too far from us. The wind is blowing away from town, but people are starting to talk about packing stuff to evacuate. Friends of ours are a lot closer. They dropped their dog off with us in case the wind changes direction.

Albertans! Did you get the emergency alert about the wildfires in Entwistle? A friend in Edmonton got it, but I didn't. Of course, I'm north of Edmonton. Just curious about the range on it.
