It's #MemorialDay, so the Trumps are seizing the opportunity to tell the world how much they've sacrificed for America. No, seriously, that's what #EricTrump (the dumbest #Trump) decided to proclaim on this day when we honor those who have actually served their country. Of course, Trump thinks #veterans are 'losers' for serving, but he and his family never miss an opportunity to put themselves up on an unearned pedestal. This family is scum.
#Trump honored the nation's heroes by defaming #EJeanCarroll—again—and attacking the various judges who have presided over his plethora of civil and criminal trials. It's insane that he also thinks he's suited to be the president. We deserve a real president who upholds the #Constitution, and respects the #ruleOfLaw.
#Trump doesn't understand the #Constitution, and he doesn't give a shit about upholding it. The government cannot discriminate, or levy punishments against people on the basis of their beliefs, or participation in #protest. The Founders believed this to be such an important principle that they made it the #FirstAmendment to Constitution. #TrumpIsAFascist, and if given the chance he would destroy our republic in favor of a dictatorial #autocracy.
On Memorial Day, we remember those who lost their lives protecting their nation. They didn't agree with every policy or decision in Washington, yet they served and sacrificed.
This November, you also have an opportunity to protect the nation, even though you may disagree with many of its policies. You can do so simply by voting.
Read about the GOP's Project 2025. Then #voteblue to protect democracy, voting rights, the environment, women, the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and all Americans.
In which the #NYTimes comes to the astonishing conclusion that the guy who tried to ban people from entering the country based on their religion, who put children in cages, and who conspired with our enemies, may actually not be very nice.
Drawing on decades of research and a wide range of historical and global examples, from 1930s Europe to contemporary Hungary, Turkey, and Venezuela, to the American South during Jim Crow, Levitsky and Ziblatt show how democracies die—and how ours can be saved.
The number of U.S. oil refineries exceeding the EPA's action level for cancer-causing benzene in 2023 was cut in half compared to 2020.
These are the kinds of regulations Trump and his minions want to scrap. The very first executive order of Trump's presidency was to relax regulations governing dumping mine waste into rivers
So the U.S. “advises U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution.” due to terrorist-organization inspired threats. Sec of State Blinken said in a statement, “people in the LGBTQ+ community continue to face insidious forms of stigma and discrimination."
Bitch, you gotta be kiddin’ me. There are currently 515 anti-#LGBTQ bills in U.S. states right now. Facing insidious forms of stigma and discrimination?
"It will be my great honor to pardon the peaceful January 6 protesters, or as I often call them, the hostages. There has never been a group of people treated so harshly or unfairly in our country's history."
Every election. Every race. Every Democrat. #voteblue
To #VoteBlue is to vote for this:
"Between 7 October 2023 and 23 May 2024, at least 35,800 Palestinians were killed and 80,200 were injured in Gaza, according to MoH in Gaza."
Also:
"Some displaced people in central Gaza are now surviving on three per cent of the minimum standard for daily water needs, warn international NGOs."
The right to privacy is a fundamental right in this country. The discussions a patient has with her physician were protected by Roe v Wade.
This isn’t about being pro life. The republicans have shown time and time again they wouldn’t give two squirts of piss for anyone’s life. If they did, they would quit trying to defund social programs that are proven to save and improve lives of children and adults.
Union jobs provide economic and class advancement over generations. That's why billionaires and their Republican minions are so desperate to kill them.
All those places I used to live in.....I'm so glad I'm not there any more...with the exception of New York City....most of them turned bright red and want people back in the Stone Ages and spewing hatred everywhere.
Texas
Missouri
Georgia
Louisiana
Kentucky
I now live in a red county and hearing some of these people talk just fires me right up
Racism is taught....I know...I was exposed to it all the time growing up.
Voting these GOP fuckers out of office is the only way. #voteblue
“If the voters put [Trump] back in power after the Jan. 6 insurrection, we are unlikely to keep the republic. If voters cannot be bothered to show up and choose the only candidate
who has pledged to abide by the Constitution from day one (and never to "suspend" it), then our democracy is doomed. But we can get it right this time, as we did in 2020.”

Democratic Senators Seek Meeting with John Roberts
Two senior Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, including Chair Dick Durbin (D-IL), are requesting a meeting with Chief Justice John Roberts “as soon as possible” amid reports that properties owned by Justice Samuel Alito displayed two flags with links to the Jan. 6 insurrection, Politico reports.
#ElonMusk has steadily ramped up his criticism of #Biden…. Musk has posted about Biden ≥7X a month since Jan, attacking the president for everything from his age to his policies on immigration & health. Before that, he posted about Biden twice in Dec & not at all in Nov. In all, #Musk had posted nearly 40X about Biden this year, compared w/about 30X for all of last year.
May 24, 2017 – Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson said that poverty was “a state of mind.” The former neurosurgeon, now in charge of programs responsible for low-income housing, had previously said that low-income housing should not be a “comfortable setting that would make somebody want to say: ‘I’ll just stay here.’”
The #SupremeCourt on Thurs allowed the use of a #SC congressional map that a lower court said “exiled” thousands of #BlackVoters to carve out a district safer for a #WhiteRepublican incumbent.
Writing for the majority, Justice Samuel #Alito noted many predominantly #Black precincts in #Charleston were moved out of one district & into another. But “because of the tight correlation between race & partisan preferences, this fact does little to show that #race, not #politics drove the legislature’s choice,” he wrote.
